Okay, so there's no other way to put it, but I was completely and totally bored to tears yesterday for some reason. Parker didn't want to do anything but play his various games and things he got for Christmas and birthday, so he wasn't much help in the amusement department. So I thought "why not practice macro shots and see what kinds of odd photos I can get?" Great idea, so that's what I did. However, it's freezing cold outside (for here!), so I did it indoors, and what fun it was! You should all do this! In fact, I encourage everyone to go get your camera, put it on the macro setting, and take a walk through your house taking photos. Then, put them in a photo essay here on Gather, leaving a link to your post in my comment section here. I want to see what you come up with!! Here's what I got.
One of my African masks, taken from what I thought was a cool angle.

Parker's new Incredible Hulk.

One of Haley's many Littlest Pet Shop pieces. They're so cute! I think I like them more than she does. Ha ha.

Truman's little furry paw. I love it that these tufts of hair stick out there! It's so cute!

One of my Elizabeth books. Yes, I'm obsessed!

I love this! It's the cow off a box of Carnation dry milk.

Some of my husband's books. We have books galore in this house!

My guilty pleasure - Paris Hilton Heiress perfume. Shh! Don't tell anyone!

A foam smiley.

More foam pieces from when I actually got Parker interested in something besides video games. This was our art project yesterday.

Peace, man!

Parker's snack - dry cereal.

Parker getting another handful of cereal.

Any guess as to who this belongs to? LOL

One of Haley's My Little Ponies.

It seems like such a short distance to home (WV) on the globe, but it's actually close to 500 miles.

This little scene is on the bottle of the kids' vitamin C tablets.

Any guesses on what these are?

A rose on a candle holder that was made and bought in Romania. Our Romanian friend brought it to us after a visit to her home.

The little mouse with my birthstone on it (garnet) that my mother-in-law bought me at Fenton Glass years ago.

A cute little candleholder I've got on a shelf.

My dashboard Jesus my sister bought me, because it is hysterical. We will probably rot in hell for such sacrilege, but tell me you're not laughing!

A wooden cat I bought my husband at Pier 1 back when we (a) had the money to shop there and (b) didn't have kids (see a again! LOL).

This was really fun to do, and I think it will be my new boredom activity. Try it!

Cute shots.
IMO macros are always a lot of fun. I've done this in my house, only problem was, once I loaded them on the computer I realized how badly I needed to dust!
Maddie LOVES MLP, she got tons of ponies and other MLP stuff for Christmas, she got a couple of movies and now almost every day it is "watch pony movie Mommy." lol.

My daughter and Haley would have a blast together. Maddie has that same little pet (pig) and that same My little pony. She has a whole herd of little pets and ponies too!
These were nice, Victoria!
And you just assumed you inherited them.
Oh, is that one picture of toothpicks?!!?!?!? LOL
I will be trying this....soon and very soon!!
