Reindeer Lichen:

Haircap Moss:

with a mysterious jungle creature!

And more Haircap Moss:

That was all in Ballard Park. Down the road and around the corner next to the Green Bridge over Gooseneck Cove is a patch of Haircap Moss, an unknown plant that I think is another kind of moss, and some Mouse-ear Chickweed:

This is the unknown:

All together now:

Around the corner on Ocean Drive are several patches of Thyme-leaved Speedwell. The flowers are tiny, less than 1/8 inch. No, it's not a kind of Nettle; those things that look like a Nettle's stickers are actually just hairs on the hairy leaves. That's how small all this is and how much we've blown it up in macro mode!

And around the corner and up the hill to the old stone wall on Hammersmith Rd. There's lots of Haircap Moss growing along the top of the wall:

And that's our walk through the exotic Macro Moss Jungle.

i think the first unknow plant is just moss going to seed but im not sure on it
These are great photos...looks like you are getting more comfortable with using the macro!
Karie, I was on automatic, but I can still tell you the f-stop; Photoshop automatically logs all the EXIF data.Hmmm... It seems they're all f/4.0. I've never messed with aperture on macro shots, but I HAVE been known to switch over to manual focus.
The unknown looks to be a type of ground cover garden sedum. It will grow just about anywhere and is hard to eradicate. It has gotten loose in the wild.
