LET'S PARTY!
Come on over and join me at Party Central. There will be plenty of food, refreshments and music for your enjoyment.
It is all happening around the old oak tree. Of course the garden and it's celebration decorations change throughout the seasons.
FIESTA IN THE GARDEN
I love my Kokopellis on the fence - Music and Dance
Our gazebo is the perfect protection from Florida's intense summer heat and I was thrilled to find one which came with two shelves in each corner. The top shelves are just the right size to hook up our Bose outdoor speakers.
After all, what is a party without good music?
This is the place where we get together for a summer BBQ, have our football group over when it is our turn to host the game and celebrate birthdays and the holidays.
You can tell by the ballons that this was the day after one of the birthday parties. We had glorious weather and fired up the grill.
The plant pedestal has since been replaced with a splashing fountain, all part of my garden design plan. It took a while to find one which complimented my garden style, but my biggest requirement was for a fountain which made lots of noise. I love the sound of splashing water.
The fountain has a cooling effect in the heat of the summer and we enjoy it's soothing sound all year around.
Here is the fountain - sparkling and splashing water - during our Holiday Open House.
It is a great focal point, but best of all, I can change out the plantings within 30 minutes to two hours max.
Should I go with pink geraniums for spring - what do you think?
To give you a better perspective, here is a different angle.
As you can see last summers planting of choice under the fountain was simple green.
But wait, there is still something missing!
Party guest.
It isn't a birthday unless there is cake!
Cheesecake with strawberries on top - anyone?
.....and, what is a birthday without a birthday kiss?
Party guests
Priceless - the expression on his face. It was his big five ooohhh...
Our party guests always enjoy taking a stroll in the garden, so come join me in a mini tour of a couple of my garden treasures in bloom.
A late summer view of the jasmin bush in full bloom.
ROMANCE PURE
The white flowers lend an air of elegance and coolness to the garden.
This jasmin blooms three months or longer in the summer. It is not a fully mature plant yet, it will still grow a couple of feet wider and a foot or so taller. It always looks lush and green, a great plant to have in the south.
PRETTY IN FLAMINGO PINK - ANGEL TRUMPET
I love these for their color and their scent.
A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS
How could I ever begin to describe the color or the shape of this tropical and exotic Hibiscus bloom.
AN EXOTIC HOTTIE IF I EVER SAW ONE!
We have reached the end of our tour today so I will leave you with one last good-bye kiss!
Party guests - saying good-bye.
This umbrella is in yet another section of our garden, over a bar height table where the guys like to hang out with their coozies and the younger party crowd usually congregates.
I hope you have enjoyed your visit to my garden - it was my pleasure to share the garden splendors with you.
