The wood pile

 As I told you last week I would show you my winter store of wood,I finally got around to it.We spent thanksgiving day with my youngest son and they split wood for his house also.I got to spend almost all of thanksgiving day with his family and I did not have to cook.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

             

One uses the wood spilter and Kenny uses the ax.Thats my oldest grandson.

a lot of work left to do,all i have to do is watch LOL I spent part of the day out side with my youngest grandson.

I took pictures while they worked and I had such sweet company.Then the little helpers came out to help.

 

I use the term helpers I'm sure pop didn't think so.

After all of the hard work dinner was ready.

After the long day I was ready to get home and get on the computer and to mt fav site gather.

It was a wonderful day, I'm sure you all had one also.

Wow a lot of work! I mean the wood not the wonderful meal, but I know that labor of love is so much easier.

I would have killed for that splitter when I lived in Wa! As it was, I had to coerce the neighborhood boys to do it:)

The child next to the splitter made my heart stop! I know your husband was right on top of that, but that machine is so dangerous--one slip and someone gets hurt. I nearly got killed when my great-nephew was "helping" us split and haul wood years ago--in pushing him out of the way of a tossed piece of wood I took it right in the head. I refused to work with kids around after that.

Wow, that's lots of wood... We also spent the thanksgiving weekend gathering wood and splitting it... It's free heat for us since we got he wood free..

I had no idea it took that much wood for a wood pile. It's the largest stack I've ever seen. Maybe we just have had puny fires.

Great woodpile. We spent one day cutting wood and still have more to cut. I know your guys enjoyed that meal after working up an appetite.

I can't believe how beautiful your weather was at Thanksgiving. Ours is usually cold and wet. That is a really nice looking woodpile.
