Here are some pictures I wanted to share from my visit to Calvary Catholic Cemetery last week. I have about one hundred pictures total that I can't seem to delete, but these are my favorites.
The Stone gates into the cemetery.

The three crosses of Calvary with Lake Michigan in the background. Oh, and I noticed the name Michael Cudahy right away, there were several Cudahys in this cemetery. I took notice because Loyola University, which is right down the road, is my alma and the physics building and the library (the two original buildings on campus) are named Cudahy.

This entire lawn was huge, and sat at the intersection of different parts of the cemetery. There are a total of twelve graves within the low walls, two in each corner. I loved the lifesize angels.

The angel on the right was kneeling in prayer.......

and the one on the right had her arms crossed.

Thought this one was unique, was for a nine year old boy.

Several markers were done in this style.

Really liked this one and the green color was beautiful.

I had my younger sisters with me, and we came up to this one from the other side which is unmarked. They had just watched Transformers the night before and were excited to find the "Allspark"!

I included this one because it stood out from all the other statues in the cemetery.

Hope you enjoyed visiting Calvary with me, it really is a beautiful retreat on the Lake at the edge of Chicago.

I find poking around cemeteries and interpreting the lives of the people buried there from the bits of available information interesting.
Lots of similar stones and displays.
Good article
Thank you for sharing these.
