This certainly looks like an office building doesn’t it. Apparently, it’s a five-star prison located in Styria, Austria.

If you look at these figures comparing crime in Austria and crime in the U.S. you’ll notice something odd: although the U.S. has higher crime rates in virtually every category (murder, forcible rape, robbery, aggravated assault, etc…) the Austrians triumph in one category: burglary. But why? Why is the rate of burglaries in Austria a whopping 40% higher than in the U.S.? I’ll tell you why: because Austrian minimum security prisons are awesome! If you’re in Austria, and have a working brain, you should be trying to get into one right now!

If you think its five star from the outside, I can't wait to see your face when you take an interior tour.

This looks more like the floor entrances to a Mall. Now you know why more people are turning criminals.
No, we are not there yet.
Prisoners who are recently married would be given honeymoon suites.

Hope the cafetaria has Mcstuff and KFC along with Starbucks. And the waiters must also be really gud. Ohh if they are this concerned of criminals, Im sure it has a disco and Spa facility too.

Now thats the boundary wall and that looks more like a prison. So you know that I'm not lying.

This I think, would be the conference room. So,the prisoners are given courses in public speaking too.
Wow look at that. This must be the jailer's office. I hope its also not for the prisoners.

Well, Austria and switzerland were alwez my dream vacation locations. And now I know exactly in which hotel to stay when I'm in Austria. And think about it, all I have to do is try to rob a bank there. They will catch me and sentence t

we should send everyone to Florida and Texas to have them executed and waste millions of dollars on US prison systems that don't work and increase the crime on the street because people have no access to healthcare and housing and food And when the prisons are overstuffed then they should be shipped overseas involuntarily to be cannonfodder for artificially instigated wars.
"Although, I often hear of those who are fighting for similar prisoner rights in America and that frightens me."
But of course their 'friends' (the builders of this prison) always pardon them ... that is why it is so 'clean' ... and empty. It is for show only ... and as nice as it appears to you and I, it is a real slum compared to how those 'potential' prisoners (hah) live their normal lives.
Because all those nice classrooms and meetng space are used for rehabilitation. And, they work.
You'd think that nice prisons would make it more likely that prisoners would return, but the opposite is true. Other industrial nations don't have the huge rescidivism rates that we do in America.
The overall crime rate in Europe is a fraction of what it is in the US, despite the barbaric conditions of our prisons - which are designed to be so awful that no one will come back.
Yet prisoners in the US do come back, in the largest numbers of repeat offenders in the first world.
The Us locks up more people for more crimes and repeatedly locks them up than almost any other first world nation.
Years of being "tough on crime", of "law and order" vengefulness, have not worked.
Real prison reform won't happen, because this nation is not willing to think about real rehabilitation, and prefers to spend money on locking people up rather than training or educating them.
Austria spends more on building effective prisons, yet doesn't have the same high return rate that the US does.
In the long run, it saves money. That's why all other modern nations spend more on prisons. It actually costs less to deal with criminals effectively than to throw them in a hole and let them rot, learn new criminal behavior, leave more desperate and angry than before.
Reform is worth thinking about that, but it won't happen here.
They are Civilized.
We in turn incarcerate people for smoking marijuana which I KNOW there is a law against, but what I am saying is that there are thousands upon thousands in the penitentiaries right now who could be freeing up space for the real criminals like killers, rapists and child molester's just to name a few. We continue building more and more pen.'s in order to house more of these people who are minor offenders instead of trying to educate, and truly rehabilitate them. Then we continue to release the killers, etc., early because there isn't sufficient room for them instead of cleaning house from the bottom of the criminal spectrum.
Yea, its a beautiful looking place and one in which people LEARN to respect one another which is the basis for everything else.
It happens everywhere these days.
Thanks for posting to my group, Anythingwriting
Well, it's also true that you are what you see, hear and read.
Thank you for posting. I am certain that the outside is more impressive in its description than the inside. I think we need prison reform in America. Does anyone recall AbuGhraib? You can thank the US prison system. Those acts were perpetrated by former prison guards from the states.
thank you for posting to undeniably late night!!!
peace =)
