Dear all , some findings and
observations I wanted to share with you. Firstly I think we were all very successful and everyone was in good
humor for the dirty work . However on returning the next evening we found areas already littered and some
areas that might have been missed on Saturday .

I. First aid kit , knowledge to treat heat exhaustion ...simple home/nurse solutions.
2. Earlier posting of the event with media outlets ........one month in advance,plus reminders.
3. More teens , they are young and strong.................registration in groups & as consent forms.
4. More adults who are used to outside work .............target trades and construction companies.
5. More banners and scientific explanations................quick word on what pollutes the most .
6. Experienced adult direction for teens. ................. work safety, practical solutions.how to tips,
7. People to go between groups and table area..........carry water, redirect new arrivals , rest points.
8. Do this more often . Youth clubs ? .......................neighborhood /storm drain clean up.
9. O. C's and science against live sacrifices........... Specifically against the Santeria cultists.

Drug no syringes or medical waste, some ' baggies ' .
Fishing hooks and lures. maybe in deeper water ?
Conclusion of main polluters

2 walkers, cyclists .boaters throwing/or losing water bottles off the bridge/boats.............recycle bins for plastic
3 santeria cult . bags, fruit or chicken,clothing, plastic bags .liquor bottle.......code enforcement fines
4 weekend fishermen just buy more line for next week . Urinating on rocks ...........port'o'loo ? education.

c Teens and older kids seem to readily understand the idea
of plastics turning to dust out side , like their toys in the yard.
That the dust goes to the water and then to the sea creatures .

d That broken glass wares down to smooth edges eventually.
and that it was difficult to take all the small plastic out of the
tidal wash/weed , asking if we should just bag the whole lot ?

e We were reminded again that getting the young to show how
they can express their care of the natural world is utmost .
an educated youth will teach their whole family to have a
conscience towards their environment . Fathers will listen to
their little princesses and older brothers need the respect of
their younger siblings , science reasons for the obvious ...
inspiring the heart to do the same ...We think that we could
design science projects for students that express the issues.

We went to the Hollywood beach on Sunday, and I really regretted not having brought some plastic bags, because there was so much trash there.
