My Wish List

I have just been reading the posts of people who have commented on my work... and had no idea that people have been posting wish lists on gather. I'm not calling mine a Christmas wish list, because I need or desire these things whether it's Christmas or not. But I do want people to know what NOT to get me as much as what WOULD interest me, so if I post it here it will be public... and besides, the paper I was keeping my list on is getting pretty raggedy.

In no particular order, here are the things I WOULD like to receive:

Godiva chocolates are always a good choice for me... but no nuts or fruit-filled centers. I prefer vanilla, coffee, or chocolate centers. Their truffles are TO DIE FOR!

Complete DVD set of all 7 seasons of Gilmore Girls. I love that show!

Seeds and/or plants (indoor or out... I have no house plants but would like to change that!)

Candles and/or incense are always welcome. I also need tea candles for my scented oil burner... and more vials of oil fragrance to go with that would be good, too.

Clothing size M/L or US 12/14 slippers size 8/8.5

Unusual purses or jewelry... although I seldom switch purses.

Gift cards/certificates for groceries, shoes & other clothing, Target, mall stores including department stores and Verizon as well as cash or American Express gift cards which I could use to pay my (many) past-due bills

Towels for bath and/or kitchen as well as potholders

Short and long-sleeved blouses in various solid colors and prints

Hats (keep in mind I have a rather large head)

High-memory laptop with lots of good & useful programs pre-installed

Lightweight but more powerful P.A. system (for performing my music)

Professional-grade Karaoke rig including music (it's easier to get a karaoke gig than a regular performing gig... and karaoke is fun!)

Wireless headset microphone for performing

Professional quality portable electric piano

Physique 57 or P90X to get in shape

A working car/van/truck

Also, I don't mind if any or all of the above are secondhand... well, except for the candy LOL

Please do NOT buy me the following:

Gift cards for Walmart or CVS as I will no longer shop there

Lotions (I hate the way lotion feels on my skin. I know I should use it, but it makes me want to bathe and get it off of me)

Nail polish or makeup as I do not use these things. I did when I was younger but have not worn makeup for over 20 years and nail polish for nearly that long.

Thanks. It really is all that I need, too... which isn't that much in the general scheme of things. The things that are not on the list are things I don't want, don't need and wouldn't use if they WERE given to me.

Very nice and long wish list. I just want to be and stay healthy for my twins and DH. No more health issues and that the Lord with heal me of M.S. That is, if that is His will..

A good list. I can't believe you haven't worn make-up in 20 years! Wow. I just switched to Bare Escentuals last year and am extremely happy with it. I just ordered the Todays Special Value on QVC today. I can't wait to get it. I didn't wear make-up except lipstick or gloss for years. Pregnancy had a weird effect on my skin and it was impossible to wear anything on it. I found Bare Escentuals and my skin always looks amazing now and doesn't feel like I have anything on. The only thing I don't like about it is that the cover-up doesn't really cover the problems at all.

Anyway, it is a good list. These are all things to know if someone wants to know what to buy you.

I quit wearing makeup when I began to feel like I looked ridiculous when I did. I wore it when I sold Avon... how can you sell if you don't use the product? Besides. I can't afford to keep up with resupplying it if I wanted to wear it... so why bother?

Sorry, if I had a complete set of the Gilmore Girls, I wouldn't give it up. You'll have to buy your own. (Note I said "if." In case you're wondering what to get me for Xmas, there you go.)
