for those of you who have read my weekend plans, you know that I'm working like crazy this weekend. but I came home to a very nice surprise tonight. I wish I'd have thought to take pictures before it got dark so I'll have to do that tomorrow.
Anyway, when I walked in my patio, my husband and kids had just finished planting me a planter of flowers! I had mentioned to my husband a few times (it takes a few times to get him to DO it) that I wanted some flowers around. I'm horrible with plants, but I try and I would just like some cheerful flowers to see instead of this ugly messy patio all the time. So, they bought 4 little flower plants and planted them. They also bought a watermelon plant and planted that in the ground around our fence. That should be interesting! We also have one pineapple plant that the pineapple is close to being ready. Hard to believe it takes a year or more for one pineapple to grow! No wonder they're so spendy!
Anyway, now it's past bedtime and I'm off to bed. Was hoping to reach cashout level today but am going to bed with only 18 points to go! So, I should get there tomorrow, if I get computer time...
Have a good night!

That is so nice to get a surprise like that, I hope you get your 18 points, they don't seem to be growing very fast lately, maybe have changed the system again, enjoy your flowers, and when you eat the pineapple, think of me, my favorite fruit.
That was a nice surprise. Enjoy your flowers!
Such sweethearts! I'm great with the garden, but HORRIBLE with house plants. The boys actually bought me those Aqua Globes you see on TV as a gag gift! Buy hey! They work!
What sweet thing for your hubby and children to do for you.

so sweet
That was nice of your husband to do that for you!
WOW! I'm impressed! You're the only person I've ever heard of who could grow a pineapple plant! My hubby has tried many times!
Your family really loves you to surprise you like this. As for us, hubby is the plant person in our family. I kill 'em just looking at 'em. I'm actually banned from his garden!
Maryann, do you live in a tropical area? All we did was cut the top of the pineapple off and throw it in dirt! We never remember to water it or anything, but FL weather is just ideal for it I guess. This is probably our 4th or 5th one
It just FEELS tropical here lately; 80's and rain........but we're in the mountains of PA, so that's probably the problem.....too cold. How long does it usually take to grow one?
probably too cold - they take over a year - maybe 18 months - to grow one pineapple! It's more of a "novelty" than anything and the kids love watching it grow once they can see the pineapple. I took a pic but I still need to get it posted.
That was sweet of him
That's really thoughtful. I kill plants, so my family bought me fake geraniums. they know me well. At least I no longer have to face the humiliation of dead plants! PIF
Dare I say that one of the flowers has already died? LOL I have a brown thumb too but I figured outside plants that are meant for FL weather should be somewhat safe.... guess not! lol
some really nice surprises........my g'sons best friend grew a watermelon in their front yard........from seed........lol pif
You know Renita. I haven't read a lot of your stuff, but what I have , is always something to read. You put it together so well..
Thanks, Randall. I used to love writing, but my problem is creativity! But maybe that's why I wrote my book - lots to say and not enough people to listen! lol
What a nice family you have. Treasure each moment, I am sure you do. :) It will be cool to see the watermelon and pineapple plants as they grow, hopefully you can post pics.
