was trying to have a nice evening on gather, BUT I HAVE F****NG DIAL UP AND PEOPLE KEEP F****ING CALLING AND KICKING ME OFF!!! I'm getting furious about it... i'm trying to get some points, but the calls wont stop and i'm at the point of tears about it. I cant get dsl or cable because i'm in too much of a rual area, and the next person that calls is gonna drive me up the wall... i'm getting to the breaking point!!!
The one day i set aside for gather, people decide to blow the phone up, and its really irritating me, and most of it is the stupid recordings, and we're SUPOSED to be on the "do not call" list!!
Can you cheer me up?
I've been trying for a goal of 100 points today, but so far i have 15 because of PEOPLE CALLING MY PHONE ALL FREAKING DAY LONG. can you tell i'm mad???

When I had dial-up all people got was a busy signal, and it didn't kick me off. I had a good service here, then I uplgraded to Cable (we paid the bill today). Just unplug the phone.
I wonder why I didn't get kicked off when I had dial-up. I guess I was lucky, or maybe this is strickly an American problem!
Any non-Americans reading this article, and having the same problem?
And it doesnt matter which provider i have, it still has done it all these 6 years... I think its the phone lines themselves, but there's nothing i can do about that.... =/
BTW, I gave you a 10 with my first comment.
I would imagine she changed her number to 1 800 U BITE ME
it will get better i promise
We are all of various beliefs, and on varying paths in our spiritual journey. I use all the good words (a, b, f, h (because I don't believe in H), s, and any other one I can think of) but I personally don't use G, or G D, or J, or J C. That's me, personally.
We're not put on this earth to judge others, and the language they choose to use.
I'm sure that Krystal posted this to let off some steam, not to vent. if I don't like someone's language, i just won't read their content.
Most phone providers allow you to temporarily turn off call-waiting for any call. There is no cost for this, and it will prevent you from becoming disconnected while you're online. People calling you will then receive your voice mail (if you have it), or a busy signal (if you do not have voice mail).
Simply add *70 to the beginning of the phone number you dial to access the internet.
For example, if you must dial 1-800-555-1234 to access your ISP, you would change the number to *70, 18005551234. This will decativate call waiting FOR THIS ONE CALL ONLY.
You then need to enter this code each time you dial out to connect to the internet.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
NOTE: Almost all phone providers recognize *70. However, if this doesn't work, call your phone company to receive the correct code.
Incase you run out, here are some more.
if you are on do not call list, report them s.o.b.s!
