This morning, I heard Gillian up and around. Nick was still in bed, but Raegan was up. That meant it was between 6:45 & 7:00am. Gilly was running around, getting the cats riled up, and yelling at Raegan over something. Nick told Gilly to please go lay back down.
Gilly ran up the steps, stomped across the family room upstairs (it's over top of our bedroom, so we could hear it), then started throwing a fit which woke Chris up. The entire ceiling was shaking from her foot stomping, all while she screamed about how unfair it is to be told to go to bed at 6:45am.
Then, because of how he was woken up, Chris and Gilly started fighting immediatly, and loudly.
Needless to say, not the way to wake up. After finally getting to a sitting position, my head was already pounding, so my breakfast (so far) was 3 tylenol. I'm thinking I should splurge and grab McDonalds for breakfast this morning. We got a $42 check yesterday from Nick's ..... crap, some account he has on line. Epinions, I think. My head is pounding, and I'm in that crappy lethargic state of being one gets into after being very abruptly awoken well before it's time to be up.
Tomorrow is payday. On the 'tap' for things we need to handle- $250 needs to be set aside for getting the roof done. We have to pay out our cable, cell phone (which is only $40 this month, because they messed it up last month, and double charged our debit card- which -thankfully- had enough in it to cover that mess up), car insurance, electric, and our first water bill.
After all that, we should still have a decent amount left, though, so my plan is to get Chris & Gilly their winter coats (Rae has one that still fits), plus snow pants, boots, and hats & gloves. Chris & Rae need boots, Rae & Gilly need snow pants- Chris might as well- I haven't located Rae's from last year, but if I could, they're just plain black and his size. On the plus side, Goodwill had some in both Gilly & Chris's sizes last night for much cheaper than Walmart. At Walmart, they're $15/pair. At Goodwill, Gilly's were $3.99, and Chris's were $4.99. I may go back this morning and do that, just to have them on hand, and not need to buy brand new ones for them.
Rae's in 7th grade- on one hand, I -know- she won't use them for school, so are they needed? On the other hand, she likes to play outside in the winter, so would she use them for that? Would it be enough, though?
For coats, I need to talk to a friend- she thought she might have a coat in Gilly's size, she wasn't sure. If she does, that's more money saved. If I don't have to buy snow pants for Chris, or a coat for Gilly, that's quite a bit of money I can save.
If I got around to getting my sewing machine out this weekend (it's actually out, but I need to clear the area), I could save more money by making their hats & scarves. I could also make Gilly a few pairs of mittens, but I can't do gloves, and those are the expensive things.
I always get lots of the cheap 'magic' gloves (the stretchy knit ones) for the kids. But they usually need 1-2 pairs of the thick insulated ones for when they are outside playing in the snow, and those can cost $6-10 a pair. Too expensive!
Back a month ago or so, I found a brand new hat & glove set at Goodwill, still hooked together with a Walmart tag. Those are for Gilly- the gloves are fleece, and not insulated, but they'll be great for extra gloves. The hat is reversible, fleece on one side, knit on the other.
I really need to sit down, figure out what we owe for each bill, and figure out how much extra money I'll actually have.
Oh, and I need to buy Chris's Halloween costume yet. He just refuses to settle on someone. We told him he has to decide this weekend, so we can get it. And now it's off to make Gilly the cold lunch I -promised- her last night I would make before going to bed. Oops.
