He must have something to hide. Maybe he wasn't even born in America.

Seems like a reasonable request. Although, he is, as we all know, an Islamic terrorist who wants to destroy America, so you can't really blame him for hiding it.

This man has made a habit out of making himself look more and more untrustworthy. He keeps touting his single mother childhood, but leaves out the bank vice president grandmother, living decently in one of the most expensive places to live, and going to the most prestigious, oldest and most expensive prep school on Hawai'i.

The State dept would know if he was not born in America & I doubt they would keep mum abt it.

In regards to 57 states... 57 primaries were conducted. Don't forget places like Guam, etc.

People will see what they want to see, and beyond that, reason goes out the window. Barack Hussein Obama is a Christian man. There is no denying that. But if you don't want to believe it, if you want to believe lies, then there is nothing that can convince anyone here otherwise. You all are preaching to your own choir. But if you want to find out the truth about him, then seek the truth about him instead of continuing the spread of rumors.

What I really want to know is why all of the Obama fans haven't commented on this?

I do wonder why he would have to hide?? An awful lot from what it sounds like but why not provide the birth certificate? Seems like an innocent enough thing to request. If everything is as he says it is what does he truly have to hide??

This is a NON-ISSUE. The whole thing started based on an urban legend that the name Mohammad was his middle name. This has already been researched and proven false. The man is not morally, ethically, or legally required to show people his birth certificate just because you want to see it.

And for the record, McCain has not turned over HIS birth certificate either, and the Dept. of Homeland Security rejected a subpoena to provide a copy of the document.

I have no arguement that BOTH men are U.S. citizens and have the legal right to run for president. But if you are going to start splitting hairs, there is more legal concern over McCain than Obama in this instance.

Hawaii is one of only two states in the country in which birth certificates are not public record.
Fact: Obama is the ONLY presidential candidate EVER to refuse to furnish the press with this document.
Fact: There are only 5-7 pieces of information contained on a birth certificate.
1. Date/Time of Birth
2. Place of Birth
3. Mother's Name/ Father's Name
4. Race
5. Religion.

So it lends itself to the question ; which one of these things has he lied about and is now hiding?

Where exactly are you getting your data from? Because you keep using the word FACT, but every time I start looking I see the facts are wrong.

Actually McCain is an exceptional case as he was born of a service members family while stationed in Panama. There is a glaring difference here that you try to ignore Julie......McCain's birth certificate has been problematic because of the his circumstances at birth. Obama has publicly refused to produce his. So once again I ask you Julie since you seem to be the only Obamadroid with the guts to answer, What is hiding? And why is he hiding it?

Chris, no. McCain's birth certificate does exist. Homeland Security didn't refuse the subpoena because they didn't have it. The reason was they didn't feel the subpoena was valid.

So by your response, I have to assume you have no actual evidence to address your statements of fact, and just made up those facts to suit your purpose? I don't think the man has to be "hiding" anything to refuse to show people his birth certificate. I know I wouldn't put mine on public display. Considering the rabid hatred some people have (like people completely making up facts as they go along) I can see someone trying to take a copy of it and use it to create a fake identity or obtain fake credit. frankly if I was so very much in the public eye, I would be more concerned about that than anything else.

Yes I'm sure lots of people are going to try to steal a presidential candidates identity.. That makes lots of sense. I mean do you listen to anything you say? Virtually everyone has to produce their birth certificate at some point in theior life for identification purposes. One would presume he needed to show it to get a passport so he could travel to Iraq.....Oh wait that's right he doesn't travel to Iraq. I will re-state for you the fact that every other candidate in history has provided this document. The NY Times has requested this document several times and been rebuffed along with many other news organizations.. I have noticed a direct correlation between irrefutable facts and the amount of whining and sniveling the liberals engage in. I am from MA too, the birth certificates do not have race or religion on them. I am looking at mine, my wife's & children birth certificates as I write this.... none of them have those 2 categories.

You stated that every president has released his birth certificate. I can find no evidence that this statement is true, and would appreciate a link to where you got this fact...assuming one exists. In truth, I can't think of a modern era election when anyone even cared about a candidate's birth certificate.

And each time your "facts" have been challenged, you have avoided addressing the fact that your information is flat out wrong and instead pretended everyone else must be stupid for bothering to actually go look for the real information. Actually birth certificates information varies from state to state depending on the individual states statute. In fact many contain the information I referred to. So if you want to get into a pissing match about it. It is actually you who are factually incorrect. Since u know better, which states have the race & religion field in the birth certificate. If u r claim it as fact & when that fact doesn't apply to some states... then u should make it clear in ur fact that these categories r not applicable to all states.

Btw, I m not voting for Obama as I tend to vote republican due their stand on moral issues, Obama is way too left field for me. But I do like his universal health plan as ensuring every American has access to healthcare is a moral issue to me.

I second that thank you Jared. This article really has me wondering who is bugging McCain to find the rock with his birth certificate on it? Seems only fair that he should be asked to go dig that up somewhere.

It seems that Obama finally relented and made this available this morning. It makes one wonder why in the world he would refuse such an innocuous request, as there is apparently no secret or new information contained therein. The point of the article was not necessarily about ehat was on the certificate (although his refusal certainly raised eyebrows) rather WHY would he do it? It shows a certain level of either arrogance or political ineptness in my opinion.
Connie, it isn't a matter of Obama having to find this he had it in his possession but for inexplicably refused to release it. McCain's BC situation is somewhat more difficult as he was born on a military installation in the Panama Canal zone. HE hasn't out and out refused to release it.

Centrist if you reread my original post I state clearly that Birth Certificates contain "between 5 and 7 bits of information". I thought this statement made it clear that it varied.

You know this debate still rages on and its less than a month before the election, I'm not satisfied, and its not because of the color of his skin, it because I truly don't think he i a natural born citizen.
A certified birth certificate would solve this issue, and I think it should be done, and if there is still this much controversy over it, I would think he would be happy to solve this controversy, I thought at one time he did provide a birth certificate, but its apparent that he did not.

This inexplicable reticence has led to wild speculation as to what possible reason he would have to hide this. After all in 46 states birth certificates are public information. Barack Hussein Obama who claims to have been born in Hawaii, happens to claim birthright from a state that keeps these records secret.
Rumors have been running rampant as to what Obama may be hiding. While some of this speculation is truly silly others have more of a ring of truth to them. The explanation that has gained the most traction is that Obama's given name at birth was actually Barry and he doesn't want to explain why he took a Muslim name, which he has vociferously denied he ever was. One has a difficult time rationalizing any reason why anyone would refuse to release such a basic document that virtually everyone has to produce at different points of their lives for identification.
Once again Obama is showing his lack of political acumen in taking what would otherwise be a very small issue and turning it into something much bigger.
