Twas the week before Christmas and all through the land,
not a person was angry and all seemed grand.
We had our presents and gift cards, and our goodies too.
We were all very thankful and tried to be true
to honor our soldiers and God and be glad
for the season and the plenty which we certainly had.
When up in DC there arose such a clatter
we had to pay attention to see what was the matter.
We tore out the papers, turned on CNN
consulted talk radio and listened for the din.
We heard they were working and spending our dough, on what we knew not
but It seemed best to find out , like it or not.
But then what to our wondering eyes should appear
but their chamber was empty, with all in the rear.
There were our reps writing a bill, the biggest one ever.
No time for talking, they were being oh so clever.
There was Pelosi and Reid and Clinton and Durbin
plotting and scheming to buy votes, how troublin!
And lobbyists and lawyers and staffers and still
more whispers and laughter and knowing nods til....
The bill was all done and such was its size
that no one could carry or read it, much less criticise.
It weakened the country and tore down the fence.
It spent like a sailor with strong drink but no sense.
It bothered them not that no one could review
or alter or fix their concocted stew.
They sat plump and proud of the job they had done
no matter it was secret, no mind that it stung
the sensible people back home in the land
who voted them there to work hand in hand,
to follow the law and be honest and true,
and have their work open and easy to view,
to be responsible and thrifty and not tell a lie,
and be much more like that George Washington guy.
They called their bill Omnibus
but it should have been ominous,
For if they had done the same job when in school
their grade would be poor as they broke every rule.
We heard them exclaim as they drove out of sight
Good riddance ye countrymen - we do as we like!
Happy New Year to Everyone!

Most knock offs of this poem are pretty lame, but this one works quite well.
So nicely said, but the truth of it stings like a bee on my head!
And we are meant to send these guys back and/or even think of promoting one so that we have no stoppage, no slow down, no way to cut out this madness!
a big 10
And the buzzing is getting louder and louder . . .
