Keeping on my Moose and Squirrel kick, I thought it would be fun to see who most closely resembles the main characters from today’s current events. Of course, my list is completely unbiased and non-partisan.

Rocky – Rocky always was the optimistic one who would dash in to do the right thing – sometimes without thinking things through completely. Even through reversals of fortune, Rocky never lost hope completely.
President Bush - Bush is very similar in so many ways.

Bullwinkle – Bullwinkle was very dimwitted. Not that he didn’t want to do the right thing, but sometimes he didn’t know what the right thing was. He would go along and be beguiled very easily. Every now and then he would find some clarity of thinking, but not often.
How close this is to the Republicans in Congress.
For those on the left who would jump at putting Bush here, I need to remind you that Bullwinkle didn’t pilot jet aircraft nor did he graduate from Yale (with a higher GPA than Kerry) or Harvard – just Wotsamatta U.

Boris Badenov – Always tried to defeat "Moose and Squirrel", but never succeeded completely. Oh, he would seem to get them in a terrible situation, but he never could quite finish the job. Usually, that was because his plans were too disjointed – not to mention silly and ridiculous.
The Democrats in Congress are also doing their best to defeat the present day Moose and Squirrel. They’ve beaten the Republicans in Congress (temporarily – at least until 2008), but haven’t been able to get Bush. This is mainly because they are about as unified as Boris’s plans were realistic.

Natasha Fatale – Worked with Boris to get Moose and Squirrel. She sometimes seemed like she would turn around and help, but then it was either a ruse or just wishful thinking. She always seemed smart, but was always going along with the men (Boris, Fearless Leader, Mr. Big).
This is too easy – of course it has to be Hillary Clinton.

Fearless Leader – The one that Boris and Natasha answered to. He never said a nice word and constantly berated Boris for his stupidity. The only one he answered to was Mr. Big.
As easy as Hillary was for Natasha, this is difficult. Who would be best? Howard Dean? Osama? John McCain? Putin? Dean hardly says a nice word. Osama is as ruthless. McCain has his anger and Putin almost looks like him (just add a monocle). I’m open for suggestions on this one.

Mr. Big – The Big Cheese, the Head Honcho, the High Mucky-muck. The only one who could intimidate Fearless Leader.
Ahmedinejad – The slight of stature Iranian president is aiming to be today's Mr. Big. If only he were a cartoon character.
I leave you the opportunity to offer suggestions for the other characters in the show (Dudley Do-Right, Nell, Mr. Peabody, etc.) as well as different ones for those listed above.
Have fun.

Come on, don't be shy!
Dudley Do-right = Al Gore ... plain and simple.
This is a great article Dale....
IS there some hating going on in the house tonight?
Some people are very bitter, lonely, and full of hate apparently.
They are so nice to give you a Flag. =+) take it as a badge of Honor...
Thank you for the invite, I found the whole thing very funny and uplifting!
I think McCain makes the best fearless leader because next to some in the Democratic Party members He is the first to jump ship and go all crazy on every body. I wouldn't change anything else.
FUNNY! FUNNY! FUNNY!
Nancy Pelosi = Mr(s). Big
As to who flagged it.... as I stated to Dale, you can't please a liberal, no matter what you say. Probably even if you were to agree with them, they'd find a reason to bicker and call you a liar.
HELP HELP---get The Professor! I need an edjumakayshun!! Ahhh needs ta be LIBERATED!
"QUICK! SWEET POLLY ( HILLARY ? ), GET MAH HORSE", said Dudly, as he ran in the opposite direction from the barn!
If you haven't already joined the group Moose and Squirrel (www.mooseandsquirrel.gather.com), consider yourselves invited.
That know-it-all Tennessee Tuxedo would go well for Al Gore- but the body more matches Chumly...
I love the idea of Kerry as Duddly- the physicality is hillarious!
Great utilization of characters [cartoon] with characters [political] Dale!
Too funny!
Can't imagine who would flag an article of yours! You and I often differ but I've never read anything malicious from you and don't expect to. Enjoyed the article! Like others have said, some folks have no sense of humor!
BTW I get it: Good guys = Republicans; bad guys = everybody else.
You are the creative one aren't you! I needed this little chuckle today thanks for giving me one. Rocky and Bullwinkle were always on the top of my list for cartoons as a kid. I love your sense of humor on this one!
Dudley Doright is Barak Obama.
Nell is hard to pick. There aren't many demure females in government. They're more like Nurse Ratchett from "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest".
Boris Badenov would be someone on the right in congress. Unfortunately, the ones most fitting for the part have been 'bad enough' to get themselves removed from office - Tom DeLay and Bill Frist. Hmm... I think I'll put Newt Gingrich in that role. Incompetent buffoons all!
Al Gore? He's Aesop.
I agree with your pick of Bush as the squirrel. He's good at gathering nuts!
Tony Snow-job really tries to dumb it down for the folks, and in doing so, I think he'd make a good Bullwinkle.
And the sinister, behind-the-scenes, puppet master, the guy who is the real decider, the one everybody else works for, the one who will give the order when they push the big red button, Mr. Big himself, can be played by no one except Dick Cheney.
The announcer is Brit Hume.
Thanks for this bit of fun.
