Last week I finally completed “remodeling” the back hallway of our home.
I finally grew so tired of the 1970’s sponge paint that I couldn't take it anymore. We actually began the job last fall when we replaced the old wooden door with a nice insulated steel door with a beautiful window in it. Then in the spring we replaced almost all the windows in the house and changed out the old fluorescent ballast light that hurt my head for a really neat halogen light that looks as though it has a wave on it! Two weeks ago I got out the paint and began to complete the job. It’s so much more vibrant and fresh looking!
What do you think?

Just moving furniture from one room to another is also a nice change.
In our bedroom we have "summer bedding" and "winter bedding" and it really even changes the feel of the room, from warm and comforting in winter to fresh and sunshiney in summer!
It did make it easier to dig right in when we got this house. The first year we painted all the kids rooms whatever color they chose. They loved that because at the old place they had to share rooms and no one really had their own "space."
It makes such a difference to be able to decorate a place with your own style. I don't think I could ever live in an apartment again, with those drab white walls. LOL.
Yanno, kitchens are SO SO SO expensive to redo.
I have photos on here somewhere from awhile back..... I entered my kitchen in the "Ugliest Kitchen in America contest."
Well, I didn't win, so it's STILL ugly. LOL.
Someday after the kids are up and gone maybe I'll be able to afford it.
Until then I just have to "deal" with it. LOL.
I am fortunate though, that I have newer kitchen appliances due to the ones that were here when we moved in were hardly even functional.
great job!!
