I've always been a dog person, but because of my life style I started keeping cats for pets; cats are generally easier to care for. I've now come to the conclusion that cats are actually smarter than dogs. Dogs are easier to train, but cats are smarter because they do pretty what they want and it's like they plan.
I cat sat this one cat and the grand dad didn't like Zak (the cat I cat sat for) so what Zak would do just to show him who was boss; Zak would take a nap on the old man's pillow every chance he could get away with. Then there was my cat that used to get into my kitchen cabinets only while I was at work and get down when he heard me opening the front door.
So there there you have it, cats or dogs which are smarter?

Both of my dogs have been in agility, all 3 will snuggle and fight over the "blue chair"--cat @8 lbs, dogs at 41 & 75 lbs.
All 3 will tell you if they think they are being underfed, also.
