I think I just saw a......Kangaroo???

Police and animal control officers in Lewisville, Texas probably didn't wake up thinking they were going to spend the day chasing a kangaroo, but that's what happened.

Maynard, a red kangaroo who was being treated for a respiratory ailment at the local vets office got loose.  The vet had kindly taken him home for the weekend so he could hop around the backyard, but when the wooden gate came open Maynard saw it as his chance to do some sightseeing.

No harm done, he was captured and returned.

 

I find this funny because a couple of years ago a Kangaroo was spotted here in Wisconsin in November.  Many people were skeptical, they figured people were just reporting deer (since it was hunting season).  It really was a kangaroo though.  He was caught safely and no one came forward to claim him although authorities did believe he belonged to someone.

That had to be an interesting chase. The only interesting thing we've ever chased through our neighborhood was a peeping tom!

I'm glad he's okay! I've never seen a kangaroo running around here. I see plenty of deer, elk, and the occasional moose, though!
That would be interesting! TO all of a sudden see a kangaroo - especially in Wisconsin at that!

I heard a similar story on tv the other day about a kangaroo that got loose and hopped down the street in a residential neighborhood. I didn't hear where it was though. Someone caught the roo by the tail and he was captured and returned to where he belonged.
