MOM
You did not pick me.
And I did not pick you.
But, I picked this for you.
I picked it to thank you
for being my Mom.
For the things you are.
For the things you do.
For the things you gave me.
And some things you didn't.
I picked this to tell you
how much I appreciate the good times
and good memories you gave me.
But, most of all,
I picked it to tell you how much
I appreciate your giving up
some of the things you wanted -
and even, perhaps, some of the things
you wanted to be -
to be my Mom.
Love always, your son,
BILL
