The new week is starting and we here at Writing Essentials: Humor Monday are going to do our best to send you out into the world with a smile on your face and a song in your heart. Well, at least the smile part.
In honor of Valentine's Day, coming a few days hence, our humor theme today will be, you guessed it, Valentine's Day. Or romance, love, relationships and any other related topics.
Don't let that stop you from posting any of your writing of any genre or format, but if you've got the humor, we've got the place to post it.
To get you in the mood, I quote a few love related jokes:
"A guy knows he's in love when he loses interest in his car for a couple of days." Tim Allen
"I fall in love really quickly, and this scares guys away. I'm like, 'I'm in love with you; I want to marry you; I want to move in with you.' And they're like, 'Ma'am, just give me the ten bucks for the pizza.' " Penny Wiggins
"There's a fine line between true love and a stalking conviction." Buzz Nutley
OK, enough warm up.
I'll start with two articles:
On theme: Don't surprise your valentine
And not on theme, but timely: Tour de California - Not your father's bike race
Have a great week. If it doesn't go well today, return for a humor pick-me-up.
John

I think it's a Junior Brain thing myself.
And thanks for starting the Sound of Music in my head ... the gift that keeps on giving, and giving and giving ... OK, everybody OFF THE MOUNTAIN!

Anywho...my article has been sent John...sorry I missed last week.
Thanks for the article, Katherine.
Okay, what do you want? It's 1am and I should have been asleep long ago. Does being a writer mean I need to give up sleeping? It looks that way ...
For the first you need a word processor; for the second, tequila.
Valentine's Day will never be the same until I can arrange for an image-ectomy.
It could even result in a humorous article but not from me. I'm still in the "first cup of coffee, don't anyone talk to me yet" stage of the day.
Yeah, a weird day for all. I'm sure the coffee will click in and everything will become rosy again.
Heck, it is hard enough to understand tone, infection and meaning when you ARE talking to a person face to face!
