On Tavis Smiley Show Senator Bradley explained The New American Story. I listened to his message of faith in the American people and the human race: He said he would lead the parade to a future where our nation again did great things as we had in the past: he did not use the words New Deal, but it was plain that a New New Deal is what he meant.
Week End elections; world class educational opportunities; the enactment of FDR's Second Bill of Rights (decent job, fair competition and business rules, a home, health care, recreation, pension and the economic security democracy, science and technology makes possible); a voter guide on the internet to national budgets and their full meaning -- these reforms and others would be the goals of the New New Deal.
To pay for the environmental and economic rights and security that we must protect, will take the dedicated work of a full employment society and the low taxes promised by a monetary system of production that had all the advantages of full automation and a maximum number of robots. This would mean supply side thinking would replace debt where possible with money geared to economic output.
Cleverly urged by Smiley to run again for president, Bradley declined in favor of a more avuncular role. If Uncle Sam needs a movement to unite us to pursue the goals of The Preamble, and he certainly does, Bill Bradley could and should lead that movement.
