I was doing my evening barn chores when I heard the trailer coming up the driveway and a horse yelling that was in it. The Yell was recognized by all the other horses, especially by Robi. His brother Robin1 was home. Robin 1 left over a month ago to go to another farm for Foxhunting training. I don't understand that, because he has been an excellent hunter for years. I think it was for my bosses insecurity as a rider. Either way,he is back.
As he was yelling in the trailer, his brother was yelling and racing around the field answering him. It was a very sweet scene. It took me awhile to catch Robi and bring him in his stall.
When I did, he couldn't keep his eyes off of his Big older brother. He looked like he was teary eyed.
As for Robin1, he is a Lean, Mean Hunting Machine now.
To lean for my eyes and completely free of a Winter coat. And she drove him home in this cold without a blanket on him. He'll be lucky not to get sick now.
But, he's home now and I took care of that right away.

This is water repellent and lined so he can wear it in any weather. I had no idea that he was coming home. As usual I don't find out things here until they happen. This time it is a good thing that happened.
In every picture I noticed he was looking at me all bright eyed. He looks happy to be here. I knew it for a fact when i was buckling his front straps on the blanket. He put his nose against my cheek and held it there for a minute. So sweet, I have missed this horse and didn't realize how much until he did that. I wish I had someone here to get that picture. And then while I was fastening the rest, he kept reaching around and pulling on my shirt, lol.
I try not to get attached to the horses I work with. But, how could you resist a Face like this? :)

that big head has given me a concussion or two in my life or a fat lip. Most don't mean to hurt, they are just big.
I tell him just remember they are big. Never take that for granite.
People only get hurt around "nice" horses......
Good thing you were not at the trainers, being attached and all.....
Why on earth did she not put a coat on him for his ride home???? HELLO!
People just do not think is the only thing that I can rationalize it as??
When people say critters do not get attached to each other, well... makes me want to slap these people upside the head. Or make them watch "Where the red fern grows" several times!
Glad he is home where he should be, I bet he missed the other horses, you and the great treatment he gets with you!! I wonder if next time he gets loaded up if he will think he is going back to those offal trainers who made him do things he did not want to do?
