Animal Fun at the Fair (Photo Essay)

Any time I visit a fair, one of my favorite parts of the day is seeing the various animals. The State Fair at the Meadowlands in New Jersey had some fun animals in the petting zoo.  (They also have pig racing, but I missed it the afternoon that I was there.)

The first animal to greet me was this adorable llama.  As soon as he noticed me taking his picture, he got up and wandered over to the fence. 

Off to the side of where the petting zoo area was located, the fair had an elephant that was giving rides.

The camel in the petting zoo was quite a character.

Doesn't he look like he has quite a personality?

He was also photogenic.

Quite a few of the animals were being fed by kids of all ages. The petting zoo had plenty of feed you could buy to feed the animals.

I think the llamas were my favorites there.

They were so cute and made me want to have one of my own.

Unfortunately you couldn't pet or feed these guys.  I forget what he is.  A lemur of some sort, maybe?

There were tons of goats in various sizes and colors.

Another animal that you couldn't pet was the kangaroo.  This guy was sprawled out, sound asleep.

Little baby animals are so cute. And this mama had TWO.

So adorable!  I wanted to take one home with me.

I could animal watch all day.

These next guys were very cool.  I don't think I'd ever seen a Zebu before.

Peek a boo, Mr. (or Miss?) Zebu!

The donkeys were funny, well, one of them was. Whenever someone would walk by, he'd stick his head through the fence and push the feed machine.  He'd get it rocking until someone would buy food and feed him.

This little guy was cute too.
