Just look at this lizard's tail (I took this photo today):
Here's another shot of the same lizard:
Have you ever seen anything like that?? I sure haven't...
I took photos of another lizard of this same species the other day and its tail didn't look anything LIKE that: http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.jsp?articleId=281474977291910&nav=Namespace
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them...
NOTE: It has been suggested that this lizard is merely missing part of its tail... I beg to differ... I took another shot today of a lizard with part of its tail missing and here it is:
You must agree that the two don't look a THING alike!

Indeed, Gary!
Totally, huh, Holly? ;o)
What I find most amazing too is that their body markings and size and color varies. They are fun to watch and after almost ten years in Florida I've almost stopped jumping when one decides to hop on me while I am sitting still in the garden.

As you can see, their tails are quite distinct and not-at-all like the rest of their body.
Great pictures, Jean!
Maybe the tail is growing a new body?
I'll take all of your words for it, I guess... But it still looks to me like a "tap" from a "tap and die set"... ROFL!
Hmmmm.... John.... This is something that hadn't occurred to me... hmmmm....
Thank you so much for sharing this with us on Gather!!
