Perfect Love in Memory of Ruby

The Perfect Love is a little Beagle named Ruby who in her short time with Tampa Bay Beagle Rescue touched so many lives. Ruby was rescued from a Florida shelter by TBBR and when she was taken to be spayed it was discovered she had mammary cancer. She went home with Jack and the wound opened and wouldn't heal. Everything possible was done for Ruby. But yesterday Rudy with two human friends along was taken to the Vet and Crossed the Rainbow Bridge. So many of us were touched by this little beagle and she will not be forgotten. There are those who would say if you knew would you have left her at the shelter. Well, the answer is a resounding no. Ruby spent her final months with people who loved and cared for her. Enjoyed her playful and happy spirit and are richer because she came our way. She didn't pass on in some cold dark and damp shelter but in the arms of those who loved her showered with kisses as she slipped away. Perfect love is a trusting pet who knows that whatever you do for them its given from the heart with no reservations.

Poor Ruby...it's hard being a beagle at a shelter...we have tons of beagles in ours here in Georgia.

Where are you in Ga? Join a rescue group. If you cant foster try to provide transport or overnight stays. Or be the person like I do besides my fosters. I check the listings at 2 shelters each night for Beagles online. Doenst take much time. Let me know and I will put you in touch with a group if you wish. If you have kids fostering teaches them about the value of giving of yourself.

She's safe, she had a good life, at the end and people who cared about her.
I have 2 rescues, although they aren't beagles(and both are owner surrenders who couldn't keep them--they were at least decently cared for). I have my new "baby" who is learning the ropes and I don't know how I could feel life would be complete without my 3!

It certainly is perfect love. Animals give us so much and ask for so little in return. I am so happy little Ruby had loving arms to hold her as she crossed that bridge. Thanks for sharing this, Carol. It brought tears to my eyes thinking of all the animals that arent so lucky.

Beautifully written! It's such a heartbreak to lose a beloved pet. I have heard that dogs wait at the other side of the rainbow for their owners to come, then guide them to Heaven. I hope Ruby is waiting for you when the time comes. Congrats on your win!

I just had a crisis with my new girl Phoebe went into conjestive heart failure. Shes in Tampa now and doing a bit better and we hope will get strong enough to tolerate heartworm treatment which is causing her problems. The treatment is rough and some dont survive it but she die without it. Shes 10 yrs old and so sweet and prayers are needed for her postive outcome.
