Tonight, on our way home from work, we were at an intersection & all of a sudden there was this pretty make golden lab running in & out of traffic.
I saw him almost get hit at least twice. SO I made my husband pull over to a parking lot, in this tiny, tiny town, so I could rescue him. He so hates it when I do this stuff, but still, I could not let this dog get hit by a vehicle.
He was just running around, looking at each vehicle like he was looking for him. Tail waggin, tounge lolling about - he was very cute. I called him over to me & asked him to jump into the back of our Explorer - he did right away. Sat nice in the back & stayed when I told him to stay & sat when I told him to sit.
So we drove to this one house where I know they have two golden lab's. Nope - they still had theirs (even though they let them run loose all over).
So then I went back to the interection & went to the little grocery store there & took a chance. Went in & asked if they knew anyone that had a golden lab. They said they had seen the dog out in traffic, and maybe the dog belonged to the owners Dad.
1st I was a little mifted that they did not try to help the dog, they said they saw him out in the road & almost was hit.
2nd, they didn't seem very nice about any of it. They called the man & yes it was his dog & he drove right over (a few blocks). I thanked them repeatedly for calling him too.
The man was very nice & was so glad that I had helped out his dog Jones, whom I know like to call Jonesie. He shook my hand, asked my name & thanked me. I told him he has a great dog - listened real well & all. He said that sometimes he will try to go to the shop when they are still at home - or something like that. I was just thinking....could you buy a $3.99 dog tag at WalMart....please!?!
So I went home, feeling good that Jonesie was back home safe & sound again....hopefully for good!

If I could I'd give you 100
I am so proud of you!
Last year I found a puppy golden lab on the side of the expressway at night, only five months old. No tages, no chip, no collar nothing. Checked on craigslist, all the local stations and shelters to see if anyone had reported him since she looked to be purebred lab. Nada.
We had Diamond (the girls named her) for two weeks and we had pretty much decided to keep her since we couldnt find the owners when a new flyer showed up at the station.
BECAUSE YOU DESERVE IT... :)
This one was obviously lost, confused & very friendly!
Thank you everyone, for the comments~
You did good, I would of had to stop too.
Hopefully the owner will go get a tag to put on him..
