The Florida Aquarium in Tampa, Florida, is one of my favorite places. It has over 10,000 aquatic plants and animals. They have an excellent world-wide reputation. We have been lucky in viewing the Giant Pacific Octopus they have on exhibit there. He usually sits in his habitat, his color changed to blend in with his surroundings. He wraps himself up into a ball and it's difficult to tell how big he is.
Only twice in all of our visits have we caught him moving from one side of his domain to the other. The first time he crawled over the rocks, and we saw him changing colors as he went.

The second time he crawled across the glass so we had a close-up view of his belly! (I apologize for the flash.)

He is the most amazing creature. The aquarium reports that he has 2,000 suckers and a 12 foot armspan. I wish I could show you the video we shot. We got to watch as he folded up all of his arms and stuffed them and his body into a small crevice. You could see him change from brown to light gray to match his surroundings. If you are ever in Tampa, I highly recommend the Aquarium. It's a beautiful place.
