BIL Update

Did he put him self in the hospital? Hope they help him a lot and he will listen to them.

It started the 1st of the month but took a turn for the worse last Saturday when we tried to end his life.

I think you mean HE not WE :)

It's just so sad, Bridget.

At this point the greaest giver of hope comes not from the fact he is getting help but also the fact everyone realizes this is an illness.

This is great news. At least he did not slip through the system and get released and disappeear. I hope he gets the help he needs and my thoughts are with you and his wife, and the rest of the family who I am sure is worried sick about all of this.

My Love and Prayers for all of you at this difficult time

Bridget I am so relieved to hear that he is where he needs to be right now. My family has dealt with the schizophrenia for decades, and it can be no fun at all. As Vivian says as long as he gets and takes his medication you will get him back. I'm amazed that he was never diagnosed earlier, if this is really what he has.

My grandmother had a nurse come to give her medication, to ensure that she got the right amount, as the paranoia would some times make her think that we were giving her medication. The times were she did not take her medication was horrible. I will say though that when her medication was under control she was the best grandmother I could wish for, and even though I do have a few crazy memories from my childhood the good ones definitely overshadow them.

My aunt refuses to take her medication, and yes she believes everyone is out to get her. I don't know how she went through our wedding without any problems four years ago, but somehow she did. She really wanted to be there, and I really wanted her to be there. However, since then it seems like it has been down hill, because she refuses to take her medication.

Again, I am so happy to hear that he is getting treatment, not only for him, but for his wife and his kids as well.

He's still in my prayers, Bridget! He's in the best possible place and I'm sure he'll be receiving the help he so desperately needs! God bless!

Thank god he can now get the help he needs. That is scary, the entire thing, I did go back and read. So glad that he's ok at least physically and that now others know what's going on with him and can help him. Prayers for you all!

I can relate. I'm schizoaffective (schizophrenia symptoms + mood disorder like bipolar symptoms). I hope he gets on the right meds! I can definitely say that the right meds help immensely.

I hope all goes well,, he is allowing family into his thoughts yet...

She's talked to him and the doctors a couple different times, he still thinks that he's in danger. Her main focus right now is to keep the boys in a stable environment during this tough time!

The family has decided to take a step back and let the doctors deal with im right now and work on getting him better and getting him the help he needs. We can rest easier knowing that he's in a safe place and that he's getting the professional help that he needs.

We are all hoping that he gets better and come back to us, we miss him but know he's in the best place for him right now!
