Downtown Portland will take you along cobble stone streets, quaint little shops, corner cafés and the sights, sounds, and smells of a coastline town. You can choose to walk paths that take you along the beach line, take a ride on the mini-railroad, or go out on the bay in a dinner boat.
For the true sports enthusiasts, you can choose to see one of the Sea Dogs minor league baseball games. The Sea Dogs is one of the minor league teams of the Red Sox franchise, and always promises to be an exciting experience.
A short 20-minute drive south and you can find one of the most famous of beaches, Old Orchard Beach. Known for sandy beaches, and the Wharf for nighttime entertainment for children and adults alike, you will definitely want to make plans to visit. From early morning walks on the sandy beach, to great music, and dancing by the moonlight sky, O.O.B. promises to be an unforgettable adventure.
If you choose to visit Portland in the winter months, the Seacoast Fun Park has snow tubing and other great snow adventures. For wonderful skiing, check out Sunday River, and Sugarloaf, both short drives west of Portland.
Whether it is for a family adventure or a friend get-away, Portland has it, and is awaiting your arrival. Beaches, nightlife, indoor playgrounds, and minor league ball teams, are just the beginning.
