Help!! My cat went on my bed!

Does anyone know how to really get cat odors out of a mattress?  Last night we had company over and I put the animals in the bedroom with us.  The youngest isn't used to not having free roam of the house and went to the bathroom on our bed.  I have looked at home remedies and store bought products.  But I was wondering if anyone knew what really worked to get the odor out for good.

vinegar spray some on and add a cup to washing
Try Simple Solution - get it from any? petstore. Petsmart has it.

There is something called Urine Be Gone, that I have heard works at removing both stains and odors.

I think cat pee smell is the worse...you know I used something the other day. You can try it...wait till I get the name....picture me running down the hall...ok...I'm back...It's called Woolite Pet Stain Remover...now all you would do is spray it on and make sure you really get it in there. If that doesn't work...nothing probably will.

Trust me Vinegar works and its cheap it removes most oders and is also used in skunk oder removeal
I know Simple Solution works & it has a fresh smell, so I would try it first. The site addy above is the company site & it has a pic of what it looks like
Does the vinegar smell not stay in the fabric? I hate the way it smells, so I've always been afraid to use it to clean.

no the vinegar smell doesn't stay in the fabric Europians use vinegar water on clothes Placed on their raderators to freshen their homes in the winter

I have worked in Kennels and in Nursing homes and In a hospital I learned a lot !!

We have 2 dogs and 3 cats at the moment and we have been using Pet Fresh deoderizer.
Since we have beige carpet, even the urine stains and the carpet cleaner works to get the spot out.

lol-They also have something called "Nature's Miracle" here in Calif. Not sure if you have it there? The most important thing is to make sure you get the scent out so the cat doesnt decide that your bed is it's new cat box! In the meanwhile, I wouldnt let any of your pets in your room. Especially if you have more than one...they mite all catch on! :/

Cat pee stink is incredibly difficult to get out of furnature, and that would include a matress. I recommend a product with OXY in it. I think Woolite makes one. Then I would followup with a p[roduct specifically designed for cat pee stench.

Poor thing. Try all of the above. Terminex also has a good pet stain/smell remover. Might be expensive. The natural way is best if you can, rather than chemicals. Go vinegar!

Have you had her spay? Or had her urinary tract checked out? Behavioural and health problems should be addressed first, believe me, I have had a LOT of pets over 57 years!

vinager works and if you cant stand the smell of the vinager you could then spray the aria with fabreez after you use the vinager (plus if you get the right fabreez it kills dustmights in furnature)

Thank you all. I used vinegar for tonight and if not I will try another product from the store. Now I have to wait till my husband comes home to see if it still smells. I have a low sense of smell, so I have a hard time telling if it worked.
It would be worse if it was a Tom cat that sprayed, you'd never get rid of the smell. We have some stuff over here called Febreeze for odour removal, don;t know if it is available where you are, but vinegar seems to be the go. Also if you have a fan in the bedroom, keep it running for a few hours, preferably aimed at the wet spot on the bed.

If the vinegar doesn't help, I've had really good luck with Woolite's pet stuff cleaner.

well, my bed doesn't smell anymore for now. I used vinegar and then i found "kids n pets" at the store. seemed to work. but then when i was at work she went on my husbands pants that were laying on the floor. I ended up putting her in the bathroom with a litter box, her food, water, blanket, and toys. This is where she will be when noone can watch her until I figure out what next.
