Destinations- Places I want to see before I die

In this large world, my place in it is fairly small. I live in a limited amount of space, I have traveled fairly infrequently, and usually not too far from home.

With 3 kids, and a limited income, I have a feeling travel will likely not happen, at least not on the grand scale I eventually wish to do. Here's my list (ever growing) of places I want to see at least once (or in some instances, again). They are not listed in any particular order, just the order in which they come to my mind.

 

Mount Rushmore
The Grand Canyon
Los Angeles
The Golden Gate Bridge
The French Quarter of New Orleans
Paris
London
Rome
The Tower of Piza
The Taj Mahal
Scotland
Ireland
Oktoberfest in Germany
Walt Disney World at Christmas
Boston in the Spring
Salem, MA at Halloween
North Carolina
Seattle
Sydney, Australia
Hawaii
Las Vegas

 

I'm sure there are many more places I would love to go, but can't think of off the top of my head... What about you??

I finally got to Hawaii this year, and it was wonderful. I guess my next place to visit before I die would be Australia/New Zealand.

Great list! I'm with you on all the European destinations...I'll have to add Vienna and Italy to those though. I would love to go to Tokyo as well...I went through my "Memoirs of a Geisha" phase last year and everything was about Japan! LOL! The big plan is to live in London and have easy access to all of Europe :)

That's a really good list, though Boston in the spring can be kind of cold (I lived there when we had a foot of snow in May!)

Margaret, I'm betting Boston in the spring wasn't as cold as Boston over New Year's, which is the only time I've been there! I want to see it in the Spring once the flowers are in bloom. I bet it would be lovely!

The Statue of Liberty! Yes, that's another place to add to my list. The Great Wall of China, The Pyramids of Giza, too!

These days I prefer to love natural nature, though I was brought upto a city settings with all its hullabaloo... (after finishing my article be back on my myfaithsite)

Intriguing list, Heather. My list would include French Polynesia (Tahiti), Australia, China, Egypt, Pakistan, Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland (the Alps), Austria, England, South Africa, Brazil, Argentina and the North and South Pole. A little traveling music, please! And luggage with wheels!

I've been lucky enough to visit almost all those places you listed. I would love to go to Istanbul, Turkey, and to Athens, Greece. I would also like to go to China.

HEATHER--Having lived in Europe for quite a long time I have visited and revisited many of your top ten picks. Your selection is awesome.

I forgot that I would like to get to OZ. That one has eluded me for a long time now. I have always been intrigued with Aussie life and their country.
