I got an email from Support today- I earned enough in August that I can switch to the cash/check method of payment! That email came as a surprise simply because I've heard most people haven't gotten the invite until 4-6 weeks after they qualify.
Now.. to do the switch, or not? It's nice getting gift cards, but cash could definetly come in handy, too. Hmmm.....

Otherwise, Congratulations!!!
You have to submit a w-9 anyway if you earn over $600 in gift cards, so honestly, the taxes don't really play into it.
If the money is sent to your PayPal account, it is free to transfer those funds to your bank account. There is a fee to have a check sent to you, but still you can transfer for free.
The only issue is...once the money is in your bank account...it is harder to justify taking it out to spend ont he things you would have with the gift cards....if that makes sense.
Faith, do you know- if I decline cash now, am I still qualified to switch later on if I want?
I've been told that once you qualify for the cash program, you can send in that W-9 whenever you'd like to switch to the cash option. I don't believe the invitation expires, but I do know that once you've redeemed $600 in either gift cards OR cash, you MUST send in that W-9 because they will need to report those earnings to the IRS.
Barbi is right that it does say that you can switch back to gift cards whenever you want after you've chosen the Cash option, but... I believe you can only switch back once. If you decide to go back to gift cards, I've been told that you're unable to receive Cash again.
Sue - I'll get back to you in just a few minutes about the Paypal fees, thanks for your patience!
Here is a link to Paypal, which will show you all the fees depending on what type of Paypal account you have (personal, business or premier): Paypal FEES
I hope this helps!
I think for the time being, I'm going to stick with the gift cards. If it ever comes to them not offering cards I can use, maybe then I'll switch. But for now, I can really have fun with those cards!
