Should Al Gore Turn Green?

This election year, we have seen a great division within the Democrat Party. It appears that their convention could be hostile. I just wonder what would happen if Al Gore joined the Green Party, and became it's candidate for President? Would this cause more division among the liberal camp?

Since Al Gore is supposed to a champion of the environment, I've never understood why he doesn't turn Green.
