On May 9, 2007 President Bush signed an executive order that under an emergency, granting the office of the president overreaching powers which could effectively end what we call democracy. This was done without pomp and circumstance and without congressional approval or discussion.
This act defines "Catastrophic emergency" as "any incident, regardless of location, that results in extraordinary levels of mass casualties, damage, or disruption severely affecting the U.S. population, infrastructure, environment, economy, or government functions." At this time when he determines the national emergency, the president, who takes control of the country becomes a dictator -- with no oversight.
Anyone that paid attention in school to U.S. History(and we study the U.S. Constitution in history classes) will remember that there are laws in place of what would happen during disasters/emergencies -- these laws/guidelines have been in place for a very long time, during world wars, the great depression, the cold war. Other presidents wanted to dally with who would/could control what powers, specifically during times of war or economic hardship. Even during these hardships, other presidents still respected the constitution.

This administration has scared me from the very beginning and this (among a whole lot of other things) is why!
First -- the Supremes--this is the supreme court that just said a fetus--one that was deformed, one that was a rapist's sperm, one that was threatening the life of the woman who is forced to carry it--that fetus is more important than the woman who is carrying it.
Second -- this has already been signed. It's a directive, an executive order(similar to his signing statements). Its law. Now, whether he would actually use it? Who knows? But I can't see any reason to pen this unless they feel there may be a reason to use it. Hurricane season is just beginning or Snidely may aggravate Iran just a bit more....or another bird may poop on him!
You guys need to fear other things more likely, like what to do if you win the lottery.
