Tuesday nights are crazy, my daughter (DD) has cheerleading from 6:30-7:15, and my son (DS) has baseball to be at by 7:30, 20 miles away. So, here is my evening broken down:
6:00 -- leave the apartment with all 3 kids, after the craziness of trying to get everyone ready and everything together. Notice dark clouds to the east, the direction we are heading.
6:20 -- arrive at cheerleading. Sky is half-cloudy, half-sunny. But, we can hear thunder in the distance. I check the radio, baseball is still on.
6:30 -- leave cheerleading. Drive 20 minutes to the town where baseball game is. Halfway there, we hit POURING rain. In the town itself, it was HAILING. Pea-size hail, downpour, thunder ... get to the baseball field, assuming the game will be cancelled. Sit for a few minutes as the rain lets up. The coach says there will still be a game. I'm looking at the puddles in the park that are deep enough for the water to be over my ankles and thinking is this a baseball game, or WATER POLO?? Ugh.
7:00 -- leave the baseball field after dropping DS off. Drive back to cheerleading to pick up DD. Clouds are clearing up, sun's coming out. Saw a few rainbows.
7:20 -- pick up DD, head back to baseball game. The roads were wet, standing water in the ditches. I'm NOT looking forward to this! Plus it's dropped down to almost 60 degrees and we didn't bring jackets.
7:40 -- arrive back at baseball field. Almost no cars there. Guess what? They decided to reschedule the game! They couldn't have done that BEFORE I drove all the way back to pick up DD? Grrrrrrrr.
