Thank you all for the get well wishes and the fantastic tea tips... worked like a charm because this is the fastest I've ever been through a winter bug. Between my tea and lots of rest, I'm feeling pretty darn good now. Everyone else I know is on anti-biotics or still suffering, so tea and positive thinking has to be the trick :)
(Jerri... I will call you! Sorry I kept sleeping so much!)
Okay, onto the good stuff.... my 14 day plan is over and went very well. I didn't feel food deprivation at all, the plan has an awesome varitey, it's extremely flexible, and cooking with tea is so super easy, even I mastered it.
My favorites were the Frosteas, the tea icecreams, smoothies, and fish-based dishes, but everything I tried was a winner. I'll be using a lot of these recipes continuing forward.
The only difficult part was cooking separate meals all the time. Breakfast and lunch were not too difficult, but dinner began to become a chore after 9 or so days. I'd love it if my family would try some healthier dishes, but in reality, they are a little finicky.
So, my next goal will be finding ways to make our family favorites healthier without sacrificing taste... and of course, adding some tea :)
One breakfast I found along the way that wasn't in the book is a serving of Kashi Heart Healthy waffles (that are made with tea! and super healthy fiber, etc.) 1 cup of frozen blueberries, and a drizzle of plain non-fat yogurt. It's a totally great, tasty, good for ya breakfast. Add your favorite morning tea and you'll be all set!
Hope everyone is doing well, I look forward to reading your posts!
Hugs,
Barb

Great new recipe. Love it and you are doing great! Glad you are feeling better!

the best seem to be the ones where you can sneak in the healthy stuff without the kids knowing.
Glad you are feeling better--it's not easy doing this kind of thing when you are well!
I'm weighing in in 5 days Felicia... stay tuned!
Beverly, I was able to use a lot of what was already in my cupboard. (I also swapped out a few things for similiar if I found them cheaper, like blueberries for strawberries, tilapia for halibut, or omitted an ingredient or two if it didn't appeal to me or was too pricey- didn't find much that I considered pricey, though.) I feel for you! It is tough to work around our families, huh?
Jerri, I will call you soon! And we will get together!
Thanks Jerri, Bob, Dr. Tea, Karolyn, and Roxy!
Roxy, that's what I'm going to be looking for too... ways to sneak in healthy :) Please share what you find!
Hugs,
Barb
