I'm still going through my box of old, old recipes that I used to prepare a lot. I don't cook much anymore, but this is one that my family used to like. You can tell from the way some of the ingredients are listed that it is old. You can buy the cheese already graded now, at one time you had to grate it yourself and spaghetti sauce used to be purchased only in cans - times have changed for the better.
This is good, enjoy.

Crusty Beef, Cheese and Noodle Casserole
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 onion chopped
2 pounds ground beef
4 cans (10 ¼ ozs. Each) meatless mushroom spaghetti sauce (or 20 oz. of any meatless mushroom spaghetti sauce)
1 teaspoon salt
1 pound fine noodles, cooked and drained (I always used spaghetti and I break it into small pieces before cooking)
1 pound sharp Cheddar cheese, grated (or buy it already grated)
Seasoning salt (I always use Larry's Seasoned Salt)
Directions: (Heat oven to 325° F.)
Heat oil, add onion and cook until golden. Add meat and cook until meat loses its red color, stir while cooking. Add mushroom sauce and salt; heat. Arrange half of the noodles in a large casserole dish, half of the sauce and half of the cheese; sprinkle with seasoning salt. Make another layer of noodles; add sauce and top with cheese. Bake in preheated moderate over (325° F.) for 1 hour; top should be nicely browned. Makes 8 to 10 generous servings.

Looks good... it's cold and rainy here today so looking forward to something warm tonight!
Looks pretty good and yummy too. I wish i could eat it but i dont eat noodles and spagetti. I will try it for my kids though. Thanks.
Sounds delish!
I do something similar and top it with cornbread mix for a nice top crust. I use just half the mix, and make cornbread with the other half.
This sounds great!
Thank you for posting to Family Friendly Foods & Recipes.
Thanks Lee. I will have to try this one. Now that another grandson and daughter have moved in I am trying to find easy meals to make.

That looks delicious! Yes, I can remember when all the red Italian sauces were called "spaghetti sauce". Then they got more trendy and now they are "pasta sauces". ha-ha!
