I don't use email notifications for anything but the new reply to comment thing. Do you have a setting on gather so that you don't get the mature things? Maybe that is why.

i have it setup for email for comments on my posts I haven't gotten an email for my posts in months.

You might want to send an email to Gather support or talk to Kevin about it. It might be a glitch. I had a problem like that the other day but I never connected that it was because of a flagged post. Now it makes sense.

You are correct. If the content is published privately (to a private group) or is flagged for mature content, you do not receive email notification for comments. This is likely (hopefully) just a glitch, and not an intentional 'feature'.

I do hope it is a glitch that can be fixed.  I didn't know it was a problem for private content as well... eeek!

I have to say it's just a tad annoying and not something I can't deal with ;)

Nancy, in my little world at work for tech support this would be called a "bug"  lol  When we're testing, we love finding "bugs" because it means the customer won't find it once the version is released!!  Our supervisor makes a big deal of it and we get a "bug" sticker!!  lol  Hopefully like Kevin said it wasn't intentional and you get a sticker!!  WooHoo!!

Is your guarded viewing "Off"?

Ever since the upgrade or whatever it's called, I don't get notified about anything. I don't know what happened.

To get the "mature," etc.  posts, turn "Guarded Viewing" off on you profile page--upper right, I think.

I get the posts... that's not the problem.  I don't get the comments on the posts not even if it's my post.  Kevin explained.

I get tooo many post notifications as it is and try to answer as many as possible. But when it's flagged I run to see. A flag will get my attention every time. : - )

yeah i'm not getting any of the notices i should be. when i click on follow this conversation it never sends me emails. not to mention i can't comment on half the posts anyway...

...my comments are unfortunately becoming rare simply because i can't do it and at the moment i can't be bothered to fuss around...

I understand.. I sometimes don't get the comment box, but if I F5 to refresh it comes right up.

Refresh doesn't work anymore :(

There is definately still some kind of glitch with the "reply to this comment" feature, I've gotten notifications for someone responding to someone else's comment.

I use the feeds. So I wouldn't have noticed this.

I've only flagged maybe 2 messages in all the time I've been here so I haven't noticed anything like that. I only get emails of certain people and the rest I read at the site. Otherwise my email fills up too much and I don't have the time to sit and read through 100's of messages in a day. I am on maybe 1-2 hours a day to do all the things I need to do. Gather is just one of them.

ahh well see I don't have a life LOL.. so I can get a gazillion messages and it don't bother me none.  Of course I can only comment on a few of them, so I can view the gazillion ... ;)
