This morning I read a post, that had me seething. I didn't comment because I didn't want to say something I might regret later. I closed the post and let it go. I've read a lot of posts like this since the election and it's really has my ire up.
I'm am truly fed up with these posts people write telling me what I believe because of one thing or another. If I'm a liberal I must believe this, or if I'm conservative I must believe that. If I'm a Democrat this, a Republican that. If I'm a protestant this, or a Catholic that. If I'm Jewish I must think this, or if I'm Muslim I am definitely that. If I'm gay I must be this, or if I'm straight then it must be that.
SO Quit telling me what I believe or how I feel.
Until you have lived my life you can't know how I believe. Until you felt my pain or loved with my heart you can't possibly know how I feel.
We are separate individual people who feel, think, believe, love, hate, cry, laugh, desire and dream different things.
Just because none of these are exact clones of what you feel, think believe etc. Doesn't make me a bad person... it makes me different.
It makes me not you.

But I can say that I completely agree with what you're saying here. No two (or three or four) people are alike. Everyone has different (possibly similar, but different) ways of thinking, feeling, doing, etc.
It's easy to assume certain things since that's usually the case. But as a fundamentalist Christian who believes in abortion, whose relatives think she's a flaming liberal and friends thinks she's conservative, some of us defy the niches.
However, most people feel better when they know that they are not alone, that others have dealt with the problem and felt the same way. It's hard for me to believe that any individual is so unique that no one can feel the same way or know what one is going through.
i have to admit though the irony of everyone agree with you on this is pretty funny...
1. I open them to get the credit for view it and giving credit of the view to the person who wrote it.
2. Sometimes the post doesn't start off about politics as about something else, and people are thrown together just because of politics, faith, color of skin, sexuality... what ever.
3. I might as well pack my bags and leave Gathe altogether if I were to not at least give the person a quick view. After all theyhave the right to their opinion.
However, opinion is like everything else, not everyone will agree. and to throw a group of people together because of something, in my opinion, is wrong.
Like saying all college professors are Liberal nut jobs who don't believe in God. How accurate is that?
Were all the same in a funny way...we say whats on our minds. We are not all the same in opinion...so ..In saying that...I love a good whine and give you a 10 for your courage. I will click this time.
