I just got word from the acquisitions editor I've been working with atThe History Press:

Congratulations!

"Congratulations! I pitched your book to the Board here at the History Press, and it has been accepted! We are very excited about yourGhosts of Marietta book, and we’re looking forward to getting it underway!'

 

Oh boy oh boy oh boy. I love The History Press! I have several books they have published, including my friend Diana's.

 

I have a book deal! Someone else will format my book, and create a cover, and market it! All I have to do is WRITE it! Yes!

I definitely find the writing the easy part, always. Formatting, creating a cover, trying to market the book, those are hard. Particularly when the libraries here won't take "self-published" books (but they will take books by small presses that consist of one writer) and won't allow writers who self-publish to speak at the library, either.

It's nice to see you back, Mariana. The book came out September 16th: it's called Haunted Marietta and it is doing quite well. I just posted that it is #5 on Amazon's Hot New Releases in Georgia today:)
