I've been eyeballing the snuggie thing for a while. I get cold easily, and I am often wrapped in blankets while sitting out in the living room. Tonight the commercial came on, and Nick told me to go ahead and order it. I hesitated for a bit, and then brought up the website and after another bout of hesitation, I placed the order.
Now, the deal is, you get 2 snuggies for $19.95, plus $7.95 shipping & handling. Ok, no problem. I put in my info, but it only lets me select one color. I chose Burgundy.
Under that, it says:
*You can select additional quantities of other colors after your initial selection.
I didn't see "additional quantities", I saw "other colors". I figured that meant I could chose a different color for the 2nd one, meaning I'd get 1 in burgundy, and 1 in another color.
So I place the order for 1 set, and the next page comes up simply asking you to select a color. I picked a color and hit "Yes". Then another identical page comes up, asking the same thing, so I read it, and realize, it's asking if I want to purchase a different set. I select No.
It went through 5 or 6 more "Buy this item too?" pages, before it sent me NOT to a confirmation page, but to a reciept of my order- which was over $60!! They did indeed sucker me into accidently ordering a 2nd set, so 3 snuggies total (the second set was $14.95 for 1, instead of $19.95 for 2 of them). The shipping alone was over $30. I'm guessing that they charge the $7.95 on each snuggie, not on just each set.
I tried to call, but of course, my order is not in the system until tomorrow. I was told I won't be charged until the order ships, but my guess is that it'll ship tomorrow, so it'll be charged before I can go ahead and cancel the order outright.
I'm more than a little irked. I should have listened to my gut, and not placed the order, but I did. Hopefully I can cancel it. It's a dumb mistake on my part, but the site is also designed to sucker people into unintentionally spending more, as well.
Grr.
I wonder if I can cancel it through my bank tonight? Like a stop payment? -sigh-

I just use my electric blankie... I'm addicted to it.... I have anemia and I am ALWAYS cold.
(Yep, I am the one who is loving it when it's 100° and ya'll are complaining it's too hot. LOL)
Snuggies are sold in my Regal catalogue (we sell a lot of those "as seen on TV" things in Regal, but only in Canada....so Canadians don't have to pay high American prices to have things shipped form the USA), and we can order them individually...a little more expensive, but not a sucker-deal like you got. LOL
I agree with you. It stinks when crap like that happens. Grr indeed!
$30 for shipping is a bit much thats 3 of the cheapos at walmart:)
I do hope you get it all resolved without too much trouble!!!
