What is some peoples problems?????

I have a great friend on here, who we are both going through a very bad weak.  Why do some people, feel that they can sit there and pick on people for thier spelling or what kind of person they are??? is there life that perfect or are they that perfect that they feel it is their spot to say rude and crude things about people??? I for the most part on here have made quite a few great  friends.  I love this place, but I refuse to sit by when I am having a hard time or my friend is having a hard time to have people think it is okay to say what ever they feel they should.  I am not the world greatest speller, but I think for the most part you can pick up what I am saying. Has this happen to you???? I am just really upset right now there was no call for these comments to have been made..

 

PS I am warning you I have a MAJOR bee in my bonnet right now.

yes I can totally understand what you are saying I had someone flag one for the post I made 2x. Then when I went to their page I found some things they had posted that were copy and paste from other places on the web that WASN'T THEIR WORK!!! But yet they tell me I need to take the time and educate myself on what not to post. I made a comment and told them to go play in the road. I don't claim to be a great speller but I don know that when you are typing it isn't hard to miss or reverse letters or even GOD FORBID you hit another key next to it or in the same area.

huh??? i dunno . . . spelling never bothers me. i just chock it up to typos which are pretty much inevitable on a computer (especially if you're gathering 90mph!). grammar errors drive me insane though! i don't say anything though!

it's happened on just about every social website i've been on. some folks just have nothing better to do than make others feel bad. for me, word usage is a bigger deal than spelling.
chalk it up to the 'troll factor' and try not to lt them get to you. it's harder when you'e going thru a rough time, but try. take care. :)

humm I'm not so sure about "sdults should be able to spell" as I've had a long history of spelling problems. I, however do use spell check. I understand that not everyone does. And that's cool. My father (68 years old ver much the adult thank you) sometimes spells they're "there", or worse. But hey, I get over it. Alot of people here are mom's in a hurry to write something and don't have the time to correct every little spelling error. Give 'em a break. Sadly people can be a bit childish... hey I've been guilty of that too sometimes (for that I am sorry ;) ).

I don't like rude comments of any kind. But spelling does matter somewhat to me. If a person always spells poorly, then it does make you wonder, particularly when the error happens in a title or heading.

No one is perfect and I certainly don't expect anyone to be but I will say that there are some posts on here I can't read or understand because the spelling and grammar are so bad. I don't criticize those people but I can't respond properly because I can't understand what they are talking about. I understand that people are going to make mistakes but when the writing is such that you can't figure out what they are talking about because they've left out words or transposed words and letters to the point that what they are trying to say doesn't make any sense, then all I can do is make a generic comment that doesn't apply to anything.

I hate doing that, especially if someone is hurting and needs help with a problem. But if I can't understand what they are talking about, then how am I supposed to respond? I think there is a spell check feature which would at least help if some people would use it. I know it takes a little time if you have a lot of misspelled words but it would make it easier for some of us to decipher what you've written.

I don't worry about spelling. We aren't taking a test here. If you were in a writing competition, sure, by all means make sure there are no errors. But, other than that, I think we are better people if we are not picking on each other. I've made some typos. Sometimes when we are in a hurry, or things are going badly for the day, we may make mistakes. As for people who are rude, their day will come.

To the commentor above who remarks about adults being able to spell and spell check, Um, guess what? You should be able to use some punctuation also, before you go around remarking on other peoples' deficiencies.

It always amazes me how people are just so rude. They don't even think that the person typing may be extremely handicapped and very blessed just to be on the computer.

I have no idea why some like to correct and or be rude. I refer to them as The Self Appointed Gather Police. These are the same people that preach Freedom of Speech and yet bully others until they no longer want to express themselves.

I make typos all the time...I notice them usually after I have posted. As long as I can understand it ....doesn't bother me.

Spelling errors do not bother me. I make a bunch. My eyes are bad and i don't catch them all the time. Even using spell check.

Hell the Computer has made my spelling 20x better I see things different and had training for it in other words I see things backwards and such . so being on the internet has helped me so much in regrauds to spelling it just fanstask . I am sorry if I miss spell words but my pc doesnt have spell check I wish it did. and less the post program here has it I dont have the option thru msn

Because they are rude and don't have enough to do in their lives, so they try to correct people? Not a clue. I don't care if nice people can't spell or type so fast that they make errors, my hubby can't spell, but he is a great guy!

I don't pay attention to poor spelling. I am more interested in what people have to say! I've read some posts that have words mispelled but it didn't bother me.

Honest to God, so now it's "criticize the spelling" time.......I swear, some people have nothing better to do than to condemn and criticize.......it makes me absolutely furious! Not everyone is able to spell well, there is such a thing as ADHD or ADD, or something similar to that, that makes it extraordinarily difficult for people to spell.
Come on people, give me a break.....it really gets old on here........first political bashing, then religion bashing and now spelling bashing.
People need to GET A LIFE!

It really amazes me at the stupidity of those jerks who have nothing to do but to post hateful, nasty, degrading posts to hurt other people.......seems that they, indeed, are very miserable human beings, whose only goal is to be hateful and disgusting.......I am so terribly, terribly sorry that this has happened to you........it hurts, it really does, and there have been a number of times that I have felt like leaving Gather....but then, I think, why should I be forced off here? I have just as much right to be on here as anyone else......no jerk is gonna get me off her.
I apolotize for all the nastiness that has happened.......it really does hurt and yes, one does take things like this VERY personally!
