Oh no, and when he was attacking John McCain at his temple, that was full of cooperation and bipartisanship. Obama so hypocritical that he can't even lie without a script. How stupid. Oh, but did you look up Obama earmarks? You know the ones his wife's employer benefitted from, and gave her a promotion. No, I doubt it. That kool-aid must be great, but reasonable people have moved to straight on stupidity.

I sure hope people of intelligence are paying attention, Holly. There were so many outright lies in the Republican speeches, so many vicious attacks. They are still doing it, repeating the same lies with impunity. I saw a Republican spokesman on television tonight laughing about it. There is no one to call them on it, so they will continue to do whatever it takes to win. Maybe Barack is wrong; maybe the American people are stupid.

I sure hope America is better than that.

John McCain has his own temple?

I'm suprised that McBush knows what a temple is. The Republican'ts had this little "I Love Us" fest instead of dealing with the issues. What scares me is that if McBush gets in the White House and dies (GOD FORBID!), we will have a lady who (and sorry to say this) is basically eye candy.

Frightening thought, Kerrell. She doesn't believe in evolution, man's role in climate change, or sex education to prevent teen pregnancy. She thinks God can build her pipeline, and that certain books should be banned.

Obama is starting to sound angry. I think that is good. You can't use subtlety at this point. It is lost on most people. He needs to start fighting fire with fire. I say let Biden off his leash and let him at Palin. I can't wait until the debates. Because if Obama goes into the debate angry and aggressive, you know that will push McCain's buttons. And we know what happens when McCain gets angry. He loses his temper and says things that sound not be said on the air.

That's a good point, Julie. I like to see Obama sounding righteously indignant, calling out the hypocrisy from McCain and Palin. I don't want to see him stoop to their tactics, though, ever.

And what was it that they were so down on Kerry about 4 years ago. "I was against before I was for it?????????? Same with Palin. She was for Bridge to nowhere before she was against it. I have always wondered especially lately, if a true die hard Republican could switch lives with me totally for a couple of months and still be Republican when it is all over. It looks much different from the other side sometimes.

I DO have a criticism of Barack Obama:

Why doesn't HE love to get down in the mire and attack?
Doesn't he know that is what politicians are SUPPOSED to do?

Why is Obama ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS coming up with these facts and figures?

Why is Obama ALWAYS talking issues?

Why did Obama tell Daily Kos to stay away from smear tactics, and the Palin's family? Doesn't Obama realize that many Americans LOVE gossip innuendo, dirt, and rumours, even if the rumors are false? Doesn't Obama realize Americans LOVE skeletons brought out of the closet, even if they have to do with children?

Obama may need to get away from issues, and start doing what the Republicans do -- becoming a non-ISSUE candidate,
a nowhere man, with nowhere plans
before certain Republicans really start to like him.

But...that would make him a hypocrite, and some of us would like him less. It's a hard way to win the office, but I think he can do it. And it certainly makes the opposition look BAD.

Please support the Republican party by buying Titanic II tickets and or Titanic II Adventures stock. We so much need 8 more years. Ticket proceeds will go to erase our bail out and war costs. Sarah is working to make your ticket purchase tax deductible. If every family in the U.S. buys a ticket for $14,000, this boat will float. Now how much better than taxes is that? We'll get 8 more years, more lipstick and pit bulls. Does it get any better? We'll really have someting to talk about then. Get on the bandwagon. It's a no brainer.

Lea, I was one of those independents at the start of all of this but when I saw the crap that the neo-con (artists) Republicans were laying down both in politics and on here on a daily basis and plus that hatred and not real reasons that they cited for doing so I am about to send in today my Form to change back to a Democrat. The last time I was registered a Democrat was Ithink about 15 years ago and after a brief time as a Republican I went independent. Now after seeing what they are all about and have even more so become and the people that represent them here on Gather I am going back to Democrat and I do not see changing again for quite some time.

Or maybe seeing just one of those upper class above the real world people switch lives with me for six months in a trading places (great movie by the way Elmo) and if they can say the same things than that they are saying now maybe I would consider changing again. Actually though I think it takes a life time of seeing some of the things that I have seen as first an inner city boy and young man in Philadelphia working blue collar and now a suburbanite trying to survive day to day just so my kids can have a better life to be able to truly understand in many ways how unfair the real world is.

Sure Obama did vote yes on bills with earmarks, every senator has done so. They have no choice but to do so in order to get bills passesthat have benefits for all people in em. You call him a hypocrit though is hysterical when you are supporting McCain/Palin who the latter ogf the two stood on a stage and flat out said "I told congress to stick that bridgeto nowhere, where the sun doesn't shine" when in reality she knew that she first supported it, than took the 23 million that was built into it than turned against it. Holly, our Neo-Con friends use the "kool-aid" thing as a lame way to tie all of the people that actually THINK into the Guyana thing and beine brain washed. It is so overused and pathetic though that I really laugh every time I see it now because it proves to me how unoriginal most of their thoughts are, how they are the ones that are the "stick together no matter what, truly blind followers" and also how little else they have to work with. Someone here on Gather, I think it was Ron of "Ron and Buddy" fame posted about the Karl Rove Kool Aid Connection a while back and I believe that he actually verified it with FACTUAL evidence. That is why our Neo-Con friends didn't let it slow them down at all. They never let FACTS get in the way of their same old, same old tired BS!

I know what you mean about the ignorance of the facts. Funny thing is that I have always been an open minded person and would not mind at all being swayed to a better way of thinking by someone who gave facts to support their arguments and also limited the attacks and insults. But with what I have seen from "one side of the equation" here on Gather, they actually swayed me completely over to the opposite side of what they support. Such bitterness, hatred, insults and lies really shouldn't be what decides what is best for this country. That happened 8 years ago and again 4 years ago and look where it has us right now. Ever been to Alaska or Hawaii folks? They have always needed help from the government and we've always needed (at least) Alaska. Governor Palin reduced government spending there. Read the books and articles about that.

And, remember when the Democrats said (two years ago) "Vote us in for CHANGE!"? REMEMBER? What happened? They controlled congress. It's been steady downward trend ever since. Wake up folks.
