Among the plethora of cirrus clouds,
The sun, that orb of fire, finds a way
To peek right through these gray and misty shrouds,
And with its brilliant rays ignite the day.
The azure sky plays backdrop to the show,
As through the clearing beams of heat and light
Come slipping past the clouds to earth below,
Reflections on the waters dancing bright.
The surface of the lake is so alive.
As brilliant as fine diamonds, sparkles gleam.
To see it shimmer makes our souls revive,
Dispersing gloom and causing joy to stream.
Supple hearts with slow hypnotic pace
now feel the mystery of nature's grace.

peace
Come to California to repair the air
The fires and heat so hard to bear
This poem a mirage in reality's glare
Fills the dark spaces within
Eyes shine in response
This reminds me of a quietly spectacular song by Bruce Cockburn: All the Diamonds in the World. I'll send you the lyrics if you are interested.
