I guess I have offended someone because most of my pictures are flagged for copyright violation.
I am not even sure how that is possible since, while it is true that they are not my pictures, I did get them from freefoto.com that says we can use their pictures for free as long as we tell where they are from which I always have done. All of my pictures are from freefoto.com at http://www.freefoto.com/index.jsp
Here is what freefoto.com even says on their website and this is a quote

Freefoto.com is a site that I discovered quite by accident and fell in love with. I don't have a camera or scanner so I thought this was a wonderful way that I can enjoy beautiful pictures and even share them on gather. Now perhaps this is wrong but I have even used one of their pictures as wallpaper on my computer.
I have heard of people on gather who flag things that should not be flagged and I am hoping that is the case here. I am going to go ask the gather guides if they can help me.
If I have been doing something wrong here on gather, I am sorry. I was just enjoying gather and all the beautiful and wonderful pictures and wanted to participate and join in. I've even joined a few groups and started to try to participate more often. I've been a member of gather for just over a month and was beginning to enjoy it more and more. I know there are people who cause trouble everywhere in life but, I didn't want to be one of them. I may need to re-think my gather membership and participation.
I do appreciate all the kind and sweet comments that have been left on my images and article. I also appreciate those of you who have asked me to be your gather friend. Everytime I see a gather connection request, I feel kind of excited and pleased.

Your images may have been reported because publishing on Gather can be considered 'commercial use'. Since you are compensated through Gather Points™ for publishing, and the activity surrounding what you publish, you are making a profit from their images. Even though it may be a penny or two, it is still compensation.
Thus, the 'free' policy of freefoto.com would not apply on Gather. :-(
Basically, if you read Gather's Terms of Service (TOS) and publishing guidelines it is clearly identified that you must only publish content that you own, or that you have received permission to publish.
so, it's hard to find pics on the net that i can use... good luck...

Unfortunately, there are a few people here who get their jollies this way. I find that when it happens, and I KNOW I am okay posting the images, I just have to delete and repost. That usually does it.

Above you'll see the Flagging for my post. I am sorry about their action stating that you have vioated a copyright picture. This is totally outrageous!
The same people that apparently complained. I cannot see anything in the rules that pertain to your case. If this would be a fact that GATHER will shut down very quickly because post so much in fall into the same category.
The same members, whom disagree with them, so-called my post into an area lije I said about they are harrassed. However, it was my post that entered my realm and made extremely racist and ignorant statements.
These same people post music videos and etc., but according to the Community Guidelines.
I will be the first to tell you that I am not a Law Professor, but I did have a degree in Paralegal Technology. I know I cannot give any legal advice however, I can point you in the right direction. I do know one thing; any Video, music, pictures, etc, any data in anyway is the free for anything uploaded through Eminent Domain (FREE) can be uploaded in manner that you desire.
However, one of the members to whom I referred, her music video wanted to download as much as this Owner of the Copyright stated all of the services, eg iTunes, etc, and these are NOT FREE downloads.
The following portion pasted for your information from Gather Community Guideleines:

3. "Include original audio with your video. If you use a sound recording owned by a record label without permission, your video is infringing on copyrights."
I'm sorry if they flag you just because I commented in your post. Most of the members who read my posts also, now will not read mine because they too are afraid they will also attacked and harrassed themselves.

If pictures on a website and are copied and downloaded will be extracted without a fee, and if it is a so-called copyrighted picture, it will NOT be allowed or copied, or downloaded without compensate. Try it, it's easy.
