Hi All,
I am really new to internet groups, this is my first. I stumbled upon Gather looking for writing sites. I love what I see so far.
I hope this is how to get started, by writing an article. I couldn't find any other way. I commented on a few articles, but feeling a little intimidated. I need advice on how to make this as beneficial as possible in meeting new people, navigating around and getting the most out of my Gather experience.
How do you add tags to your profile? How do you get tagged? I saw an article where someone said they were tagged. What does that mean?
A little about myself: I am currently changing careers; not sure what I will do, but I love to write and intend to publish a book and magazine articles. I am also considering taking a photography class. I ran my own business as a mortgage broker for 12 years. It has become an ugly business and I no longer find it joyful. I realized it cant just be about the money; although it hasn't even brought me that in a while. I am flailing around aimlessly at the moment. In search of a new adventure in my life.
I think the most courageous thing I have done recently is getting to know and love myself.(Wow, what a reality check!) I am only 42 years young and have raised 7 children. I'm sure most of you mothers out there can relate, you tend to loose your identity when you become a mother. My children were my life and will remain a very important part, however my nest is finally empty( except for my girls Precious & Chloe) It can now be all about me! Ok, reality check again, but i can dream cant I!
I have been learning the Laws of Attraction and working towards vibrational alignment with what brings me joy. It all started with the book "The Secret" and evolved from there to all sorts of spirituality lessons and adventures. I am having great success and alot of fun! I recommend it highly.
I am real glad I found this site. I'm looking forward to meeting new friends and mentors. I welcome any advice and invites. So far I have received one. Yipee!

My suggestion is connect with people and join groups. Soon you will feel sucked in and addicted. Do what you want to and the great people of Gather will embrass you.
Connect to people, write articles, comment on other people articles and images....you'll be rolling in no time. Have fun!!
I keep meaning to pick up The Secret because I have heard great things about it.
Wow, 7 kids! You had my quota for me! I didn't plan on having any, but you have read my article, so you know that I am suddenly gaining two. (and actually there is a third, but he is older than I am and has a family of his own, so I don't forsee a problem there)
Being a Mortgage Broker must have been tough the past year or so. I know that activity in the market here is slow and falling. Banking in general has changed so much over the last decade or so. My mom dealt with Commercial banking before she retired and fewer and fewer banks were actually lending and providing services so that it had become a small network.
As for me, I am 35 and still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. I went back to Cal Poly SLO last year after a ten plus year hiatus. I work part time on the developing, planning, and launching of Qubox.com. (It is a social networking site)
You are a budding writer, have you heard of Associated Content?? I have done a few pieces there. So far, so good:)

I don't know if we ever figure it out, nor grow up! LOL I dont think I want to, grow up that is. I think it's all about being joyful and doing what makes you happy. I think I have found contentment anyhow, that's enough for now.
After reading the Secret, my journey has definately changed. I highly recommend it.
