I'm currently just outside of Detroit staying with family. They welcomed my mother and me in with open arms, fed us dinner and dessert, kept us company, and have given us a place to stay. I know that when I'm up here in Michigan next year, I will need to do my best to go and see family. They will be 45 miles away, but that's completely manageable so long as it's not snowing. I'm actually looking forward to next year. Yes, I'll be at the bottom of the totem pole doing all the scut work (grunt work), but after all of this, I'll get to have a few times that I can go over and see family and not have to get on an airplane. Sadly, since going off to school in Seattle in 2000 for undergrad, I've always had to fly some place for holidays and it would be nice to simply have friends and family nearby. It's going to be tough, but I am still looking forward to it.

Sounds like you've found your home.
I am 57 years old for heaven's sake - but family, ya just gotta love em so they say.
