Ya know sue, I never have really thought you can get something some else is feeling in only a few short words, since I am so wonderfully long winded... but I feel like this too somtimes, like your saying one thing, and meaning another, and it kills you to try to correct it... you said it better!
A nice poem, Sue, but the first two lines confuse me. Does she feel she is not being heard (he's not listening) or misunderstood due to the inadequacy of words (words betray us)? Help me out here.
I'm a devotee of the discipline of " too many words distract" and you are an excellent disciple of this. The few words you use, say and create a huge picture. This is a beautiful piece of poetry.

Both stark and vivid, a wonderfully turned piece! It seems like there are more and more people every day who feel like they have to yell just in order to be heard at all. Sad, but on the other hand...it's great to know I'm not alone in feeling that way from time to time!
