On the 3rd of this month I was hired to do surveillance on the neighborhood birdfeeder. Lately it has been vandalized on several occasions with the bird seed being dumped and the feeder left askew.

I began my surveillance at 8 A.M. I observed some birds using the feeder. At 9:05 I noticed a suspicious subject. Subject appeared quite nervous and would check out his surrounding often.
At 9:07 subject b
egan cautiously moving closer to the feeder. Subject would stop many times and check out his surroundings. His pressence did not seem to cause the birds any alarm.
At 9:15 subject disappeared from sight only to reappear in the tree at 9:17.

I then observed the subject very carefully lower himself to the feeder. Subject then grabbed the top of the feeder and lifted it up, gleefully scattering seed all over the ground.

At this point I attempted to apprehend the suspect. However, the vandal was too quick and was able to leap from the tree and quckly secure himself at the fence. I was able to get one more blurry shot of the subject with the vandalized feeder hanging in the foreground
.
Case closed!

Marianne,
You could always placed some corn, nuts or things squirrels would like in the other feeder. That if you like watching squirrels
