PART ONE
Well, with the releases of H2 and The Final Destination last week, and the new Tim Burton and Shane Acker film, 9 this week, it would appear as though the summer season, has finally met an end. It was quite a year. Though it wasn't the best summer movie season, there's no doubt that this summer held many surprises. There were some bad movies, some good movies, and three or four really good movies. So without further ado, the top ten movies of the summer:
10. G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra
Just barely making the list, G.I. Joe was quite the doozy of a film. It had some great special effects, and some god awful special effects that looked as though they'd been pulled straight out of a Playstation 2 game. The dialouge was bad, the actors delivering it worse, and this film was just plain stupid. Nothing made sense.
So why did I put it on this list? Well, because the people behind it seem to know that it's stupid. They know that they're not making Shakesphere with this, and they decided to make the best bad movie possible, and that's what they did.
9. Angels and Demons
This film suffers the same flaw as G.I. Joe; they're both ridiculously stupid. I gave the film a fair review, but the more I thought about it, the less amount of sense the movie made. I almost put this at number 10, because as where the people behind G.I. Joe knew that their movie was stupid, the people behind this seem to think that they are making Shakesphere.
So why did I put it at number 9? Well, because I thought that it did make sense, and it was just the ending that didn't (Although the ending has a Drastic impact on the rest of the film).
8. 17 Again
Well, I'll admit it, I saw this, in support of Mathew Perry and Matthew Perry alone. He's usually a funny guy, but he hasn't been in anything in the longest time, so I was hoping that if this did well, he might get a bit more recognition, so if that was the price of sitting through a Zac Efron movie, then so be it.
But I was shocked walking out of the movie theater to discover that Zac Efron can...wait for it....act!!! I know! I'm as surprised as you are! In fact, he actually ended up being more believable as these kid's father than Matthew Perry was!
Now, this is kind of cheating, as 17 Again technically came out in April, but it was good enough that I had to mention it. Besides, I need ten movies for this list, and I sure as hell wasn't about to put Transformers 2 on here!
7. The Hangover
When I saw the previews, I thought that it was just going to be another lame, run of the mill raunchy comedy about sex and booze. However, this was actually one of my favorite films of the year, solely because it decided to rise above all of those other comedies. Yes, there are still a ton of sex jokes in here, but at least they have enough clever jokes, and a darn good story to cover them up, so that you hardly notice them.
6. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Now, the reason why the latest film in the popular Harry Potter franchise is a little low on my list, is due to the fact that this is more of a setup film, meaning that there's not much of a story here. Basically, it's made to ask a ton of questions that will be answered, and then something huge happens at the end, to where we are now going sadly into the seventh film.
But I do have to hand it to them. The fifth and sixth books in the series were probably my least favorites, yet Warner Bros. has managed to adapt them into some of my favorite films in the series, the fifth film being my favorite overall. A bad book, made into a great set up film, it's the perfect movie to take the number 6 spot.
STAY TUNED, FOR PART 2, TO BE POSTED TODAY!

I too love Matthew Perry. I always thought he has been underappreciated. I'm always glad to see him have some work.
