Philippians 4:13 is a verse that is quoted very often. Frequently, it is pulled right out of context and used for interesting purposes. I think it's great to read the few verses before it to see what Paul is talking about though. This passage is one of my favorite in the Bible. However, it's so hard for me to learn this. The secret to contentment is that Christ gives you strength. How often though do we push that aside thinking we can do things on our own. Or how often do we worry about not having enough while not relying on His strength? This is one lesson I wish I had mastered.

I just finished saying not 2 minutes ago to Marilyn on her article that I am content. I really have no complaints today. Sure, if I want to I can find some without looking too hard, but I won't. It serves no purpose. Not today anyway. That's the key, be content when you can, practice, it becomes second nature after a while.
We tend to have a hard time grasping the concept.
But after all is said and done our strenth is in Christ our rock.
We supply the need and He supplies the grace.
I don't think Paul's point was let go and let God; instead I think it was/is a reminder of the power, authority, ability and strengh of action we are grafted into. I don't think it was/is a take it like it comes admonision, but a decree of Paul's own personal power, our own personal power, in Christ.
